I ran for hours, being pulled by Chette's energy. This same energy was pulling tiger boy towards us, like opposite poles attracting on a magnet. I knew it wouldn't be long before we found each other.
Finally, I found myself in an open field. No houses, no people, not a living creature in sight...except for a figure in white, running towards me. I stared at him. he looked like a single cloud against the clear blue horizon. Chette walked in front of me and put up a weak barrier. He stopped a few feet away from me, Chette holding him back, as I gathered energy from the grass around me (I was tired from running for so long). I asked him, "Why did you destroy London?"
"Why?" He stared at me menacingly, but at the same time I could see a look in his orange eyes that said "Are you kidding?", as if I had asked him why he breathed. "Humans...they don't know what they're doing. Violence...wars...sexual abuse..." He seemed to cringe at this last one. "I must say I can't take it any longer. After all, you've been doing the same thing, haven't you? Trying to stop the violence. Our methods merely differ." He paused, and as he did his gaze got more intense. "The humans need to be destroyed. They don't fit into this world. Everything in the world's ecosystem depends on one another...and HUMANS are the only species that doesn't fit in!" He clenched his fist. "I'm only doing God's work here. He already wiped out the humans once before with a flood. He set laws. He even tried to show them compassion. But they won't listen! So now, it's my job to wipe them out once again."
The grass around me had become brown and crumbled, as if it had decayed for decades. I was almost ready to strike, but before I could, Chette collapsed. The barrier faded. Tiger boy noticed, and took off. I started after him, but realized I couldn't leave Chette all alone in this field. So I took the energy I had collected and poured it into Chette. She revived. Tomorrow we are going to continue our manhunt.
