Character Description
Meet Zahame Alessandro De Rosa.
Zahame stands about 5'2", his slender frame covered in the miniscule, velvety scales of his species, his back, shoulders and arms a rich, warm ochre, fading to the pale tan of bare skin along his muzzle, chest, belly, underarms, inner thighs and all the other soft areas. Most of the darker areas of his scales also bear faint, darker brown tiger-stripes, which fade out quickly wherever they cross into paler skin. Around the edges of these areas of darker pigmentation, tiny nodes beneath his skin react with endorphins in his bloodstream to emit a faint bluish white bioluminescence. So it's...fairly obvious when he's excited, or happy, particularly when it's dark! The more endorphins in his blood, the brighter the edges of his stripes glow. Nothing ridiculous - you wouldn't be able to see it at all in daylight, but in near total darkness the glow is enough to see faint details by. His mahogany-brown hair glints a coppery red in sunlight. He appears in his late teens in spite of being 30 years old, thanks to his species' tendency towards slower ageing than most species. He can seem a little distant and tends to be shy at first and a little awkward, but has a quiet confidence about him that can be hard to place.
Personality
Zahame is a creature of complexity and intellect. Born under the signs of Tiger, Earth and Bull, across 3 cultures, he is deeply aware of himself and has an incredible spiritual presence about him at times. While the Chinese Fire-Tiger, a once in a century sign, splits his personality, often leading him into situations of contradiction and inner conflict, the presence of the European Bull (Taurus) means he is stubborn enough to not flit between one fancy and another - and that, combined with the overarching Tao sign of Earth, leads him to continually seek to reconcile those aspects of himself which may not quite seem logical or cohesive.
So - a deeply spiritual creature, almost pantheistic in his relationship with his world. He sees divinity where most wouldn't, although he's not overtly religious in any recognisable sense.
He's also a complete fruitloop once you get to know him.
