The final draft for Border Collie Ben (or Dog Ben, for short). This is definitely the best of the three, don't you think? :)
After seeing so many pictures of Border Collies (a majority of them were TF pictures, because I'm very, very weird...) and how every single one of them (a sizable amount, anyway) had them obsessed with herding and/or sheep, so why not? I think it's adorable with how much he won't stop talking about sheep. It gets to the point where he's like Di with being a doctor. When he's not herding, all he can think about is herding. He hates having idle paws. Don't let me get started on how he gets antsy and anxious and oh gosh, it's a headache... why did I have to have TWO high-energy intelligent dogs in one house...?
I imagine him wearing sheep-covered pajamas. When he's wearing a collar, it's mostly covered by all of that fluff. Dangit, Ben... stop unintentionally feeding into my fluff obsession. And, sadly, he sniffed out all of my sheep plushies and when I tried to reclaim them... well, that's why I have these bandages on my arms. But, he apologized, so we're good. C-can I at least have my Limited Edition Pink Serta Sheep back? Ben: *snarls* Me: *covers arms* That's a no, then. H-he's really a sweetie, I assure you. He just loooooooves his sheep.
When he isn't mauling me for my plushies, he's very friendly and outgoing, like most dogs are. Di: *clears throat* I said, most dogs... When my arms heal, I'mma give him all the pets and rubsies, because his fur is so soft. ...so... ...soooft... ... No, Sonja, don't get the thoughts again... You remember the threats Animal Control gave you...
In other news, before I go all Ax Murderer Cruella De Vil on Ben here... He's really cute! Like, oh my gosh! I love his sweet little face! And, his big, floppy tongue! And, his big, shiny nose! And, his big, bright eyes! And, his little, white teeth! All the better to nip me with!
I love getting colors from real pictures, as you get gorgeous shades like this bluish-black, but you have a hard time finding a matching color in faux fur for a plushie. :') (I did, but I'm not sure if the fur is good or not, because I was on a tight time budget. I need to buy a swatch... but, it's so expensive for a possibly bad fur pile.)
(And, the reason for the awkward anatomy is because he's bouncing with excitement. Yeah... That's my excuse...) (Also, the eye spots (the white spots above his eyes) are actually movable like eyebrows (unlike Di and other animals with those) and are usually at a /o.o\ stance than a o\ /o, if you get my drift.)
Dog Ben is actually supposed to be an "alt" for Ben when I'm in an all canine mood. I always got upset when I wanted Ben to be a dog and he's just... a cat, ya know? Cat Ben: Don't you love me? ;( Me: Of course! W-what I meant was that it's inconvenient when you're a cat and I want... you... to be a dog? Cat Ben: ... Me: Okay, that came out wrong, that's not what I intended-- Cat Ben: You know what? YOU CAN TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS DOG BEN AND SHO-- Mr. Krabs: Mr. Whitaker... Cat Ben: How did you even find us?! Wait, how do you know my name?!
Bonus WIPs and the very special one I colored in not only for a commission, but so I could get Ben's colors down. I really appreciate this and the other picture. They hold a special place in my heart. I love you, sloppily colored-in WIP... <3
