Warning : This story takes place 100 years after Rarity dead. This story base on season 4. So anything that happened in season 5 will have nothing to do with this story. (Except how CMC got their cutie mark. They have canon one)

Warning : This story's an alternate universe and is really crazy as hell. It crazy until crazy word isn't fit it anymore. It's become chaos now...

Warning : a lot of 4th wall breaking and referencing. Sharing universe with "To Love God - To Love Mortal" and "To Love Alicorn" but in the future and more crazy. And a continue story of "Crazy Future"

Warning : Don't take this story too serious or you might get headache from overthinking....

I'd be wary of that sort of generalization about the effect of Harmonization. Yes, it turned out to be a good thing for Rarity, but her Nightmare curse was completely of Equestrian origin in the first place. Applejack's curse of Undeath is from another Realm entirely, and trying to match it to Equestrian analogues could be a fatal mistake: for Applejack, at least.

maybe the Harmonizing worked for Rarity because it's both in universe magics, the Dark Souls' Undead Curse is from a different world not to mention works differently than however Nightmare stuff works. not to mention there is no "cure" for it in Dark Souls so even less would be known what would happen if it gets "fixed/removed"

The reasoning is a little weak since their whole initial belief was that Rarity's curse is what's keeping them alive and if that curse is removed or purified, she'd die. Gambling with her own life like that, on something that given what they know, is logically unsound, is not something I could fault Rarity for not doing. To be alive and doing alright vs maybe being alive and doing better is a foolish gamble to make. When death is a very probable outcome, why take the risk unless absolutely forced to?
