yknow what also could solve the speed issue with cloning? building a faster cloning device. and its also safer from a scientific standpoint, cause then you dont have the potential issue of things spiraling out of control and then having a species of things that are super deadly and smart. childish yes, but smart and dangerous.

Sci-fi 101: Consistent cloning usually leads to DNA breaking down causing uncontrolled mutations. Same reason why inbreeding is a bad idea.
By the way, the reason the page was "a damn pain" is cause its boring. Its a page of exposition, perfectly needed to fill in gaps to the reader but lacking in creativity because it is a by the numbers means to an end. There isn't a better, less time consuming solution (well there is a less time consuming one but its too late for that) so its a case of simply eating your vegetables cause they're good for you. And to do this exposition page cause your readers need to know what's go'in on.

What are you on about? Sure there's no lewdness but this page is full of important points. The dialog is in character and is indeed dialogue, instead of one character playing narrator to fill in the reader on key things. None the least of which is that jumba is going to create a second 624, foreshadowing important plot points. This is exactly what exposition SHOULD look like
There are also plenty of reasons the artist could have found this page irritating. Such as having to draw a fat man with wrinkly stretched clothing, the ten million colors, or truing to figure out what to say that stays in character for them

Hes doing this dialogue purposely to give us back story on the events coming, I being a writer myself know for a fact a story can be without "LEWD" and still be a good story as long as you keep true to the characters you are portraying and give dialogue that can maybe lead up to a lewd scene.

By the looks of it you are taking what he said outta context, the page wasn't boring and thats obviously not the case here by what I've seen over the time of seeing Kitsunes art if he was "bored" he wouldn't be making more.
Oh by the way I forgot to mention this comic was voted on a selection Kitsune themselves put out, why would he put this comic out as selection if he wasn't interested in producing it?

this is exactly how i feel about the dialogue too, and like it's a step above my baseline quality. i'm really happy with both the plot and the pacing and am more comfortable with the whole comic now that there's a framework that will allow the following action scenes to fall into place. thanks for the compliments! =D plus you're right about how kit felt about drawing it. you psychic or something?

true, but the breeding strategy also doesn't have the same overhead the cloning strategy would have. there's no need to fine-tune the process to a new species up front, there's much less oversight needed on how the population develops so he can concentrate on new inventions, and there's no need to find someone to continue the cloning after he's gone. plus it just seems more like jumba's style to implement a plan that's versitile and chaotic rather than one that's so strictly controlled. he's ultimately a biochemist, after all. that's how i thought of it, at least, but your point is well received

Well they both seem much more professionally colored in this compared to the show... and Jumba looks to have lost a lot of weight, but that aside I'd say they look right

yah I completely understand why the chars seem somewhat off as Jumba and Pleakley are pretty hard to draw even the best fur artist would likely have problems drawing these 2 together perfectly because of how much detail they require
