Her life was changed, burdened with these new appendages. She'd be forever marked as different, no angel or sphynx for them to belong on her back. Still, maybe one day she could come to love them.
It looks like she's come to some peace with having them here in this image, certainly it took her quite a few years. (I've actually no pictures of her turmoil with them)
