apparently the sword harmonized the good soul with the nightmare body. It thereby cleansed the last traces of evil, and synchronized heart, body, and mind, making Rarity possibly more pure than either previous forms.

Have you never heard of the Blue Elfstones from the Shannara books? They only work when the mind, body, and heart are all as one or synchronized. :P And they ARE magic...Elven Magic. There are three stones, one for the Mind, One for the Body, and one for the Spirit (heart). That's what it reminded me of anyways. Not like the BLACK elfstone..where it absorbs the magic you use it against, to the effect that the magic you destroy is absorbed into YOURSELF, whether detrimental or not.

possibly.. Or maybe like The will to use the magic, the strength or energy of the body to handle the magic, and the NEED for the magic all rolled into one. In the Shannara series, Elves could use the magic with no problems but their mind body and spirt had to be in sync to use it. When a half elf (The Ohmsfords) used the stones, it took more effort to use them because of the human blood. It took a bit more effort to sync each part of themselves and when they did, the magic activated....but with a cost. They didn't find out about the cost until years after, when the twins Jair and Brin were born. They had an innate magic due to the change the elfstones wrought for them not being able to use them perfectly. It was the Wishsong. Brin could affect physical things with it, Jair's Wishsong was pure illusion except for ONE time.

I just watched the whole season. it was good, though they changed quite a lot up. As for the triforce and the elfstones...the elfstones are older (1982). So I wonder if the creator of legend of zelda got the idea from that..or just a coincidence. lol.

Huh. seems that the harmonizing only cleansed her of the darkness aspect and left the powers intact. Right now though, im wondering what in the world happened to the sword that was stuck up her ass before the harmonizing took place.

It wouldn't shatter from the number of enchantments it gained, only one of the enchantments would lower the durability like that. Im thinking that the sword simply got spat out when the harmonization took place or its hidden under the tail. Needless to say, im hoping for option number two lol.

From 150 to the Mid 20s? Really? That weapon had an attack before counting defenses... an attack range of 87840 to 92160....and not counting the critical bonus...I at least gotta worry.

I have a feeling that if it was just one Element of Harmony, it probably would have killed Rarity, but because of all six being used at once, it purified instead of killed.

But...but...the topic was just so sombre and heavy just a couple pages ago. Little AJ needed a desperate reality check and we were sold so hard on that this exact occurrence would kill Rarity, and now this? This completely illegitamizes the lesson that AJ just gave her daughter! The presentation has become "oh look at that...I was wrong". And of course that leads to a follow up situation being that if harmonization didn't harm Rarity at all, what's AJs excuse for not being harmonized right now and who is gonna do it?

I like Rarity's new form and all....but I've been left with way more confusion than satisfaction.

I see your point and I was going to post nearly the same thing you did. But on other hand, LAJ got pretty valuable lesson "Don't swing your sword against everyone that seem to look like a villain, use your head!" That's for starters.
Now on other hand, there's no asuranse that what happened to Rarity will happen to AJ and she'll live through harmonisation. Nobody did that before and AJ was sure that purifying a curse that keeps dead body alive would kill a person.
Maybe it has something to do with all five members of elements that gave their powers to sword that did the trick or the curse wasn't actually a curse? Nobody knows, except for Vavacung, who won't tell us untill the story ends. Xp

Yeah...I know. I'm not like ultra butt hurt and "this makes no sense I'm quitting the story!" Just like I said, I'm more confused right now than anything else.

You may be right about your sword theory, but I'm picky and also concluding that if that situation pans true that it's cliche.

I still love the story and still hunger for more. I guess I have just been knocked a little unbalanced because this was an unexpected curve ball. *sighs* I guess that's actually a good thing when reading a story like this. Ah well, onto the next page.

Seconded...and this is coming from a dope who initially thought about 70% of Nightmarity's IDW debut was a pointless direction to take the entity (well, entities) responsible for Princess Luna's 'BWAHAHA TIME TO FREEZE HALF THE EARTH 'CAUSE NOPONY WORKS LATE SHIFTS!' phase. In this case we seemed to have a nifty lesson shaping up about 'dark' magick not necessarily being grounds for Harmonic Purging(C), but who needs that when you can fall back on black-and-white metaphysics plus Pretty Pale PURITAHVOLUTION? Sheesh.
