This song is in Spanish. Rough translation:
You are like a promise
You are like a summer's morning
You are like a smile
That's what you are
You are my hope
You are like fresh rain in my hands
You are like a strong breeze
That's what you are
You are the water from my spring
You are the warmth of my home
You are the fire on my hearth
You are the wheat of my bread
You are like a poem
You are like a guitar in the night
You are my horizon
That's what you are
You are the water from my spring
You are the warmth of my home
You are the fire on my hearth
You are the wheat of my bread
This song was entered in a yearly song contest held in Europe, every year. Each country would offer a song. Spain had won two years in a row, when this song came up, and rather than let Spain win three years in a row, another song from a different country won. No one remembers those other songs, but this one gained worldwide fame.
You will note that I pronounce esperanza and horizonte with a 'th' in place of the 'z'. This is because I was taught in high school that the Spanish spoken in Spain does this, since a Spanish king had a lisp, so to this day z's are pronounced like th's. I hope someone can verify that for me.
So, those who speak spanish, how good is my pronunciation?
