This is a hybrid that I've made caller the Dotterphin and what you are seeing is all it's stages in growth w/ more info of those stages.

The baby/child stage: once born it's armfins are flexible like rubber and are always out so that if it goes into the water by itself it's safe as they will float to the surface so that it learns to swim properly though are mostly kept a watch on by an adult or 2. They start off w/ solid black eyes and gray coloration fur.

The teen/mature stage: As it gets to this age they can now move their armfins and learn to swim faster in their 'slick mode' that makes then like slightly like an eel as the dart through the water as they swim. Also their black eyes change to gain the Iris of it's eyes that makes them always look in your direction if looking straight at their eyes and their fur fur begins to change to have different patterns dependent on their personality.

The adult stage: As they get to this stage they are fully grown. When they mate they do so during the coldest time of the ocean's current that when the females give birth the ocean is half way to it's warmest points so that their offspring will swim in warmer waters. They know who's offspring as who from the scent they give off as well as the sounds they make while to those outside their species it would all sound the same.

Hybrid of: Dolphin and Otter but about to breath underwater like a shark.
