because firearms history from my knowledge shows that during the winter war where finnland kicked the crap out of russia, the finish where using m28 rifles, and the finnish m39 is not so different. the m39 and the m28 are mosins, just alot better, after the winter war with russia, the Fins took all the mosins they captured and re-barreled them and added some other mods to them to make them a viable platform, the M39 looks like a mosin but the differanes are in the stock and the barrel, but what makes them better is that the barrels are alot better and the rifles more accurate and also the trigger being a two stage trigger making them a tack driver rifle then the regualre old 91/30 mosins you see today, and most m39 from what i know are made of the hex receiver mosins which are better then the round receiver mosins. So the m39 is a mosin, but its not a mosin, its class apart because of the massive difference in performance the m39 has over the mosin, it shoots the same powerful 30 caliber cartridge as the before, the difference is if you want to have a mosin but only one mosin, you hurry and get youself a Finnish m39.

The Rifle Roadie wields... It's his father's, isn't it? It's why even though it's battered and likely obsolete compared to the weapons his fellows wield, he still keeps it.
The fact that he was turned into an instrument of war and brainwashed to be a killing machine while also showing that he could have lived a normalish life actually makes me hope that Roadie killed the ones who intended for him to be a mindless killing machine that only follows their orders to the letter.
A case of, they wanted a near unstoppable weapon, and they got it... They just couldn't control it the way they wanted to. However, this now makes me think that Roadie wouldn't be out of place in the Metal Gear Universe, with a backstory like this, how he's a person who was taken from his family and turned into an instrument of War for Greedy Corporations/Governments and eventually turned on the ones who 'Created' him.

he coud have lived a normal life, his story is long one and roadie wanted to be a farmer, wanting to create life and help it, but with how is past is how he is today, he is the solider of miss fortune. Not an actually solider but a warrior though. Learning the harsh nature of life he now knows only that taking life is what it takes to survive where he lives. Roadie is his nickname, the called him that because when he was a child in schools the teachers and adults treated their children after the war as their up most importance. Push the idea into their heads that they are the harbingers of their peoples future, which is true after the where taking a massive loss in population in a war that came to them by surprise. Roadie is a fitting name because he now carries the legacy of his now gone people and must rebuild if he can, but there is also his responsibility now as the earth spirit, a being that has been here since the beginning of everything but his story continues as he is now apart of a much bigger conflict than anyone but him knows.

After an exploration convoy was coming bag from another galaxy to spot some possible habitats to expand farther from their galaxy, they only had time to survey one planet that was said to be more hospital for colonization, but on the planet they found ruins of the planets previous inhabitants, in the ruins the team found and artifact and thought that it would be of some sort of insight on what happened to the planets people. When they studied the artifact on their way back to their system, they found that the artifact wasnt magical in nature but was pure power and later found out that the artifact was sentient. As they entered their home system they where greeted by pirates that locked onto their com chatter of what they had and how special it was, and ambushed the vessel and took it over with ease. The pirates where on the run, looking for a place to hide their massive prize they took the ship and its crew to an uninhabited planet to further find out the huge score they had taken. But at this time roadies people where also being sent to this planet to furthe build thier dwindling society and rebuild their race far from threat, but the pirates knew that it would be a matter of time they would be discovered, further finding out the artifact was trying to communicate with them as best it can, saying that a vessel was needed, so the pirate leader saw and opertunity to get power rather than profit. With the doctors they had from the hostages they took they began a surgery to implant the artifact in him, but the being inside rejected him, almost turning his body into solid stone, before removing it, the pirates tried many times with different loyal men to the leader but all met a harsher fate. The pirate leader didnt want to pass this up, he wanted to have this power in some way he could control, and if it didnt work on his most loyal men, it could maybe work with the unwanted colonists. So the pirates planned an attack to capture a small group of roadies people, who where still scattered and trying to get organized. It would be inevitable that the pirates would be discovered so they attacked. A small convoy with a small amount of people including roadie who was on his way back home from school, since his the buildings where scattered across settlements. during the ambush roadie was nearly fatal injured. His left arm and leg where blown off and the left side of his body was singed and burned. Taking all the survivors they could with roadie still fighting to live, the pirates took all the survivors they could. Experimenting on them as much as they could, but with medical supplies dwindled from the previous operations, many of the colonists that survived the attack of the pirates didn't survive the procedures. Roadie was one of the last few alive, still battered and harshly scared he refused to die, because his people depended on their children to rebuild their small numbers, It took sometime to get him in control, still putting up a fight to leave even in his condition, when the surgery was complete a different reaction accrued, roadies body healed and his arms and legs became stone and rock encased closed up the chest cavity where they put the artifact, even though roadies heart didnt beat, the pirates took the chance to get ready for a retaliation and quickly took his still limp body to some machines where they drugged him and waited for him to awake to see if their plans worked, and it did. Even though the being inside the artifact was accepted roadie's spirit, the drug affecting roadies mind even in his sedated slumber, made it impossible to connect with roadies spirit, and soon a wild beast of a weapon was made. The leader was proud of his new toy, tattooing the words "Magnum Opus" as to gloat of his new weapon.
