Don't know how to love
I've been hearing from multiple people lately how much they're into my emotional art. It's rather strange because most of that art is about 3 years old by now. Not that it's a bad thing. I'm like "wow..it's about time!" And I always thought people that were TOO MUCH into porn were swallow and didn't care about anything else. Thank gods not everybody is like that eh?

So I made a lil promise to myself to try and balance out all the porn I do with more sincere things. Trouble is, when I actually made all that emotional art....I actually NEEDED it. It was a bat shit crazy time and it was all I could do to not fucking explode on somebody (although, that may have been a good thing in the long run). So, that's the idea behind "affect" regulation. Affect being a psychological term for emotion (boy they love making things complicated eh?).   So...on with the show.. To laugh, to cry, to feel it all and love every minute of it despite the pain....such is to live.

Im a big fan of drawings like this, the kind that are not completely colored. It seems surreal and touching. To me, this is like a symbol of death. You have the colorfur, rich sunset and the living things drained of color. But idk. Im just weird like that. I love this drawing.

Hehe. I dunno about it being death...to me it's more like drained of life, but not completely. Just runn'n on empty. I wonder what it might look like reversed....

The horizon is warmer and more alive than the people, their immediate surroundings, and nature?

...on second thought, this looks like an inverted Apple ad. :P

It's emerging color. Like the world becomes colorless when feeling numb or confused, depressed etc. But upon actually accepting and allowing one's self to feel again the sun rises and color washes over the land.

I like your first thought better :P

I often find that art as a whole is at its best when there is some emotion behind it, be it music, cinema, literature, sculpture or drawing.  When an artist puts emotion into his/her art, the art then becomes a catharsis for emotion.  This is far more interesting to the viewer than smut, at least to me, because it helps us connect with the person behind the picture.  I love being able to empathize with my favorite artists, and emotional pieces remind me that he is human.

AAaaaawww really nice picture li'l bro nd the idea is really good to color only the sky (background)... it force the viewer to concentrate on the main characters...  I like the way you've represented simple friendship... Beautifull Looq

You're just the same as me and Nek0gami and AvalonX and Razzek and like every other artist I've talked to on a really significant or meaningful basis as friends... the solution I have seen from everyone is to cultivate this "fuck the world" attitude. Pick the people who matter, try to encourage friendships and social connection, but don't depend on your fanbase. They are fickle and unreliable.

Without getting too personal, there's this running trend of a troubled past, catharsis, insecurity. In my case, I did lolicon and shota from past ... issues when I was a child, and it was me taking control of it back since I couldn't exercise control of it at that time, when I was only 13 or so.

In a nutshell, yes. The emotions matter.

Check what I called my playlist just yesterday: http://grooveshark.com/playlist/Bcs+s+Auditory+Comfort...

I would call my art therapy.

Yes yes yes! I couldn't agree with you more here! Relying soley on fans for emotional support is downright crazy. I had a friend once who tried to convince me that I should think about the popularity I would gain by doing tons of commissions and the 'friends' I could gain from this. I was having a massive case of art block at the time and his advice sounded extremely backwards and wrong..and still is! Fans can be very wishy washy when it comes to content in art..it's incredible.

In a sense...art is therapy. I've had headaches before that seemed to melt if I did a drawing about what was really bothering me at that time. I have lots of images like that here in the emotional pool. I've had a few people remark that they couldn't believe I drew porn AND emotional art too. LoL...It just made me think "god damn...can I be a whole person pleeez and not just a slice?".

Also I found its helpful if you do keep company with fans, hang with the fans that remove the ways of the fandom out.  Like when I party at cons I hang with folks that understand no use of the word murr or yiff.  Me I get the fuck the world attitude but that is when I am drunk and acting like a goof ball.  Nek0gami knows partied with him some.  Sometimes also there is that find line of friendship and business lay so close too.  As much as you try not to cross the lines, you do.   Hence why I enjoy talking to artist , they know how artist life is and want constructive feedback on each other works.
