Twilight and Celestia stood there staring at Pink's mouth agape, Pinky mirroring there own shocked expressions, but before they could say or do anything a flash of lightning and she was gone.
Celestia began to giggle uncontrollably, "what was she going to do" she thought to herself, she had finally found someone she could confide in, some one to love her the way no pony had in a thousand years, one minute she had everything she had always wanted and now it could all be ruined by one silly little pony.
Twilight was trying to comfort Celestia by holder the Sun goddess in an embarrass, while also wondering what she was suppose to do, what Pinky was going to do, how was she going to help her mentor if pinky blabbed, but it was too late now the pony was out of the bag and with the next flash of lightning the window was now empty outside, pinky no where to be seen.
Celestia was still laughing uncontrollably when Twilight finally snapped her out of her hysteria, "listen! it's not as bad as is seems" . . . "NO!" said Celestia "it's much worse than it seems, you have no idea of all the horrible things I've done" she said,; tears streaming down her face, "if she tells some one, there are going to be other ponies who will believe her, others who will come forward with there own accounts of what I have done to them".
Twilight was worried now, not only for what would happen to her Mentor if Pinky went blabbing, but also what Celestia might do to pinky, "alright, she's just one pony, and it's raining out, she couldn't of gone fare if we hurry we can still find her, and maybe she will listen to reason", "I'll use a spell of finding and we can track her down before she tells any one".
Celestia wasn't listening, she was having an internal struggle with her self, the "Other self" was telling her to stop pinky at any cost, while her normal self was trying desperately to resist.
Twilight stopped in mid narrative of her plan, she noticed the strange silents that had over come the room ,and the sudden change in the air, she slowly turned around to face the princess, and froze, there before her the princesses, her face had taken on a vary unprincess like look.
Celestia was looking down, sweat beading on her brow, her eyes rolled up in her head, and the vary air around her was darkened a sickly green, "ah...Celestia?!" said twilight, "are you feeling alright?" .
Celestia responded by grinning a wicked grin, her eyes locking onto Twilight's, her mane flickering rapidly, the colors all wrong, "alright?! . . .ALRIGHT?"
said the now almost possessed looking Celestia, "why?... is there something wrong with my face?".
Twilight did not know what to do, her master was like some kind of animal, she could see the hunger in her eyes, Twilight wanted to help her, she new she was having a mental battle with her dark side . . and loosing.
"listen!, don't let it control you, I love you Celestia", Celestia's face became soft for a moment, but just when she thought she was getting through to her another crash of thunder shook the tree; the lightning blinding her momentarily, when she could see again, the door to her home was open, and the room was empty, she could here the rapid clip clop of hooves fading into the distance.
Twilight ran out the door; her horn lighting the way, she had activated the spell to find Pinky, she just hoped she would find her before the princess did.
she ran thought the night, down an ally, her horn leading the way, she could tell she was getting closer, she could make out the edge of the Everfree Forest,
she had hoped that she would not have to go into the Forrest especially as dark and rainy as it was, but if pinky was there than all the more reason to find her, if Celestia didn't hurt her than something in the forest might.
Pinky could not believe what she had seen or herd, she just did the first thing that came to her mind,...run and don't stop, what else would any pony do in there right mind after seeing that, what was she suppose to do after seeing that.
Another pony might have confronted them, but not her, she had herd enough to know that Celestia was a bad bad pony, she ran until she could not run anymore, than taking a few breaths she sat down.
Why was the princess holding Twilight like that, why had she hurt those other ponies "thought Pinky", her hair was sopping wet, her usual curly bouncy hair was now laying flat to her shoulders and neck reflecting her mood...flat.
she had no other way to describe the feeling other than flat, this situation was something she was not used to dealing with, should she tell some one?, and if so who, and if she did tell some one, who would believe a silly filly like her, they would probably just think she was being silly again.
Just then she herd a splash, and the crack of a branch breaking... interrupting her train of thought, her hair would have stood up strait had it not been so wet, she looked around and could make out a strange light coming toward her through the brush, she quickly backed away, and tried to hide under a wet leaf.
Twilight had been running full tilt for awhile now and was beginning to get tired, but she new she was almost there, she burst through the trees into an open area, and there before her was a pony, a vary scared pony, but a safe scared pony was better than a hurt pony any day.
Twilight cautiously approached pinky, "it's ok it's just me," she said, but pinky was looking past her at something, "whats wrong pinky, I just want to talk", but pinky remained motionless that same terrified expression on her face.
Twilight finally fallowed Pinky's eyes behind her, and there in the darkness she could make out the shadow of her princes, all remanence of her usual glory missing from the now insane goddess. Twilight stood there looking at Celestia, placing herself in her path, praying that she could get through to the deranged pony.
Celestia could see it all happening so fast, the rush of the wind in her mane, the cool feel of the rain as it dripped from her flanks, and also the terrified expressions on the two ponies in front of her, all the while knowing there was nothing she could do to stop it, she was screaming inside a silent horrified scream for the living nightmare to stop.
Celestia slowly approached the ponies, Twilight was about to Defend the pony when pinkie pie started to laugh, at first slowly almost roboticly but picking up tempo, Twilight looked back and saw pinky rolling on the ground laughing, and pointing at the goddess.
Celestia was just about to charge her brave apprentice when she stopped, non of the other ponies she had ever "taken" had ever laughed at her, or laughed at all, the crazed princess did not know what to do, she was momentarily stunned, her face taking on a slightly baffled look.
Twilight turned around again,; than taking advantage of the momentarily distracted Celestia she ran as fast as she could, lowering her horn, ready to do what she had to, to save her friend.
Twilight ran, closing her eyes; the rain masking the tears flowing down her cheeks, all the memories of her teacher, all the good times she had with her, all the late night talking about magic came flooding back to her, she opened her eyes to make sure she would strike the princess in the heart, all the while her own was breaking inside, even in the brief moment she had confessed her love to Celestia she felt true love for another pony for the first time in her life, and she was about to end it all, to save her friend.
Pinkie pie saw it in slow motion, her laughter now stifled, Celestia saw it happening too, only she was glad to finally have the nightmare end, she was doing everything in her power to hold her "other" self in check long enough for her apprentice to pierce her heart. but just before twilight struck the blow, she lifted her head and kissed Celestia full on the mouth, Celestia's face going through spasms, the battle in her head going back and fourth, Twilight had chosen her fate for bad or for worse.
Pinkie sat there listening to the galloping of her friends hooves, her heart pounding in her chest, she cringed as the hoof beats stopped abruptly, she opened her eyes, and uncovered her face, first one eye and than the next, and there before her stood Twilight and the princess locked in an embrace, both holding each other, both of them over flowing with bright magic, she could see Celestia main slowly begin to tern back into the correct colors, starting at her head and ending at her tail.
The rain finally began to stop, Celestia opened her eyes, and in her arms she was holding Twilight sparkle, she was looking up at her smiling, and across from her was a vary shocked looking Pinky Pie.
