"I'm a rocket maaaaaan!"

And perhaps one of the goofiest tracks in the series. Zooming through outer space, dodging little space rocks, all while listing to some banjos! :3

Now enjoy OR EAT DIRT EVERYONE IN THE VICINITY! >:3

Thanks. ^-^ This was the hardest track I've ever covered, so I really appreciate that.

As for the stage itself, I liked how they managed to get that rotational background effect in both 16-bit versions of the game.
It's easy on the SNES as you can use Mode 7 to rotate the background in hardware. The Genesis/Mega Drive however lacked such support, so they had do some kind of work around to make the same effect in software.
Didn't look as smooth, but it was still impressive in the games that used it. (Contra: Hard Corps is another game that used a similar effect to make the buildings topple over when they blew up.)

oh i've never played the Mega Drive version :O  But i almost bought the Directors Cut for the Mega CD once, which should have had Mode 7-like effects because rotating and zooming qualities of the Mega CD hardware (Blastcorps, Thunderhawk, Batman Returns, etc.).

Yeah, it was pretty cool. Though I don't think it was a smooth as the real Mode 7, but it was still impressive.
