The Smear Campaign is the tactic a narcissist will use against you, to paint you into a more negative light than what you really are, so people will see you differently and will either stop supporting or turn against you, or even side up with the narcissist. Why do they do this? Simply because they don't like you or there's something about you that they're jealous of, it may be your talents, your looks, your reputation and how people prefer you to them or the fact they see you as a good target for sadistic abuse, or, another reason, so no-one will ever suspect them to be the ones abusing since they're the ones making accusations and coming off as the hero

Never confront these people, they're dangerous and have 0 empathy, but don't allow them to fuck up your life either, if you have people like this in your life, tell someone who loves you so you'll always have someone to fall back on and who understands
