I drew this for the Hat Trick art project, where we draw 2 or more things from a hat, and draw a combination of whatever we get, each class member wrote 2 things to add to the hat
I drew 4 things from the hat:
Fire + Ice
Classic video-games (anything before 2008)
Wizards
Furries (I added that one, happened to draw my own entry)
I'm actually really proud of how this came out, it's probably one of my best works yet
my first idea of course was to do a magikoopa because he's a wizard from a video-game, and he's like a turtle guy, which fits the furry criteria, and I really wanted to have him fight a wizzrobe from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, since they're like bird guys, but the whole "classic" thing tripped me up, I wasn't sure if I would be able to, but I looked it up, and Wind Waker came out in 2002, and I was like "yessssssss"
now I know the wizzrobes never actually show their feet in the game.. but.. I had to ok? freaking.. cool.. grabby claws.. I just had to, I just hope I made them well
oh yea, also, while I was drawing the foreground, I thought the style was starting to look very Paper Mario esc, so I decided to roll with it and have them fight on a stage kinda like you do when you have an encounter in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, which came out in 2004 so it still meets the criteria
