It's safe to say Chucky and Adam really are friends, and not just roommates. I had two roommates freshman year in college. The first one didn't work out because he was a late person and I was a morning person. The second one I got along with fine, but we were never really friends, just roommates.
In panel one and two, they're supposed to be on a train riding back to school. It isn't obvious so decided to mention it. Hey, look who's made a reappearance.
