Though honestly, I didn't find the 3rd season very interesting... my hunch is they might did it on purpose to not to overshadow the coming premiere of Kung Fu Panda 3 on cinemas.
Someone also comented to me on dA, that Dreamworks/Nickelodeon decided the TV series would be a separate story from the movies, so the TV series is a "separated continuity". That after what happened in S02E07 and E08 "Enter the Dragon", where Po supposedly used some force similar to the Tai Chi he was suppossed to learn later on the 3rd movie...
