"Metal wasn't used to this whole... dating concept. Admittedly, when Sonic had first discovered him toying with his Neo form's appearance, he was appalled. But the hero's good-natured attitude about it allowed him to feel more comfortable.
He never expected to bond with his... could he even call him a copy anymore? Especially when he found out Sonic could transform into an adorably furry creature with stretchy arms. A strange after effect of Dark Gaia's power, he had said. He didn't care much for the specifics, only that he had found the form remarkably appealing.
Sonic easily picked up on this, and soon their encounters shifted to a monthly event during the full moon. It was scary at first, getting used to these... feelings while they spent time together. But over time, his fear lessened, and he found himself enjoying holding Sonic's hand. After the first head nuzzle, though, Metal was hooked. He never received such wonderful attention from anyone.
He never realized how much of a cuddlebug Sonic was, but he could definitely see the appeal. The Werehog was soft and warm, pleasant to the neural sensors on his body. Unfortunately, they couldn't cuddle that well due to his facial structure, but Sonic was always a step ahead. He never realized how sensitive his feet were until he'd been coaxed into a game of 'footsie' by the other.
Both of them couldn't help but giggle as Sonic's soles and toes teased his own modified appendages. It felt surprisingly nice to the robot, and it was apparently an intimate sort of thing, and he loved being able to experience such a gesture.
Sonic was really the last person he'd expected to have some sort of connection with, but with the way the Werehog doted on him like this, he couldn't imagine spending his days with anyone else by his side. Especially if there was more stuff they could do that felt as good as everything else Sonic had shown him."
A few recent pictures, especially one by @TheEnigmaMachine, flooded my head with Metonic ideas. It's such a rare pairing, especially with Neo Metal Sonic, and even rarer with Werehog Sonic as well! I really have no idea if anyone has done this version of Metonic before. So here we have three little sketches I did, showing their progressing relationship. Just something tame and fluffy to break up my gallery a bit before I get to these requests, because these ideas just wouldn't leave me ALONE!! XD
