I like the concept of having characters live a happy life, despite of their physical disabilities. Some time ago, a friend and i designed a character for a now cancelled comic, where we wanted to go with the same concept.

I think it's a pretty interesting theme to explore as well. It's not done too often, but I think it especially gives these two a lot of cuteness potential. I designed them to compliment/complete each other!
There's actually a similar duo in China (one armless, the other blind) who live happy lives and have been planting a forest. I didn't actually know about it until after I created these characters, but I found it interesting. ^^

My thoughts are that they're both very competent and could get by on their own if they had to. What looks/seems like physical dependence is more of a byproduct of their much harder to describe emotional dependence on each other. It's a little hard to explain. Admittedly I haven't had to articulate it before :P

Yea, emotional stuff is a lot harder to express and explain than physical. Some of my characters went trough some emotional and psychological hardships in their lifes, like bullying, sexual and/or physical abuse, loss of loved ones and such things. Yet they´re all designed that they left those things behind and found a new happy life with their friends/family. It´s a bit of a reminder to people that no matter how bad things go, there´s always hope for a better life.

Heh, that's pretty much my thought process as well! I haven't actually given them much backstories, but they're not too pretty. They're so happy and cheerful, though!
