kill them for blood? But that's both cruel and wasteful, 20 well fed and cared for pookas could give blood once a month for a lifetime with a consistent supply. Killing them you only get what bllood you can get from the corpse that isn't wasted. Beyond beng murder it's economically wasteful

So... other pooka did that to his wings out of revenge for what other griffs might have done? That seems a bit hypocritical in light of all they've been through.
On the lighter side, he looks good with the head feathers (ofc I'm biased....), and Ava really likes him. He'll be a good big brother to her... or Uncle I guess it is now? Or cousin-by-marriage...
