Esmeralda (right) tends to be pretty reluctant about embracing her froggish ability to inflate. She grew up in an area where frog-folk were relatively rare, which led to her being teased mercilessly by the other children for her tendency to puff-up when startled, scared, etc. These early experiences left her extremely self-conscious and shy - especially where her species 'pneumatic abilities' were concerned.
In an effort to help build Esme's confidence, her friend Nanako (left) offered to teach the shy redhead some of her breathing exercises - ostensibly to help give her better control over her abilities, and avoid accidental 'blow-ups'. Of course, Nanako (being supremely passionate about the subject of inflation, and more than a little mischievous) simply cannot resist egging her friend on - much to Esmeralda's embarrassment.
My mother was startled by a toad in the garden, and it was startled by her, so it -expanded. I saw it soon afterwards and it had shrunk down again. I have a way with frogs & toads.
Toads - easy to catch Woodfrogs - average jumpers, one got away by continual jumping until I had to give up. pickle frogs - best jumpers. Quick to escape. I can't catch them.
