Yep :3 Although nowadays a lot of public schools have uniforms too. I’m sad I missed that, I loved a school uniform as a teen XD I was actually wearing shirts and ties to school but the only “uniform” we got in my time was a badge with the school’s logo. I still have mine :3

What country are you from? Here in New Zealand it's mostly not the cast for tax funded schools, only private and I admit I'm a bit against it as it can be an extra expense for cash stripped families and against expression. I couldn't care less about private schools. And those that do are quite casual, polo shirts, hoodies, shorts and the like with shoes of choice (more or less).

Bulgaria ^^ They started the return of uniforms exactly because of the financially disadvantaged because here you will see all sorts of kids going to the same public school, poor and rich alike (expect some of the very very rich kids). It is one of those places XD It is an attempt to equalise the kids and not have the “poor” kids feeling bad for not having the newest brand/label/whatever clothes and so on. The uniform are mostly casual, like, nothing special - polo shirt or t-shirt, sweater or a cardigan for the winter and some pants but what annoyed everyone is that you could only order them from one place and the fabrics and quality were sh!t XD :| I think they have been upgraded in most places now but I am sure some of the less “prestigious” schools still have bad uniforms :/
(Here the prestigious schools are not the private schools but those public schools and high schools that have the best curriculum and the best teachers, and the longest traditions (or something like that). Each school has some specialty subjects like a specific foreign language or science subject like math or biology and the schools that don’t have some specialty are considered “not worth attending” if you or your kid have any ambitions about anything in life at all)

I see. It's a tough one as it also violates personal expression and often the uniform costs and is only useful at school. My aunt led a protest against them at her public school!
My word would be, I'm not paying for it, if you want my kid in a uniform, you supply it for free!

Eh, the way I see it, restrictions bring forth creativity. Personalities shine the brightest when you’re not distracted by clothing and hair colour choices ^^ But I’m a very orderly person so I see things like going to school and going to work as separate from one’s personal free time and there are thing that are appropriate to do/wear for the different occasions and places. Like, tank-top with shorts and flip-flops is not appropriate for school or work, don’t care how hot it is and we do get a lot of that here -.- Just my opinion ^^
