I think, one of my most favorite parts must be near the end of the Forlorn Ruins, when Gumo chooses to sacrifice the legacy of his people just to do good to the one that was nice to him. Most players propably just think he want to make up for Ori saving him, but no. There is sadness in his eyes, his action dooms what could serve as a memory of the Gumon and he knows it. But he can't save his people. So he decides to save somone else with it.
