Ultima Figurine
Tech Talk Figurine
The scene where Twilight and Nyx meet for the first time from the fanfiction Past Sins as requested by deviantart user zkdjfghaldk (that really is their name and not me typing silly lol) I still really like the scenic base I made for this one :D

What did you use to make those mud puddles?  They look fantastic.  Have you ever used static grass before?  Done well it gives a nice 3D look to grass and fields and such.

Basing is indeed half the fun of modeling.

Thanks :D I used woodland scenics realistic water for this particular one http://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/Item/C...
But now I'm changing my water effects to be resin because this realistic water stuff works great if you don't move the figure anywhere but since I ship my figures to commissioners and they often have to go through really hot temperatures, it doesn't work so well because the heat can soften it.

I would love to use the static grass. It has been on my 'to try' list for ages but I just haven't gotten around to it since most of the time people just want a rather plain painted base.

oh but I also sculpted the harder 'mud' with clay and painted it. The watery stuff is the scenic water.

oh yeah and I painted the base with a smattering of different colored browns with my airbrush before putting the 'water' on. I took the end nozzle off the airbrush and just let the paint spatter around.
