I really like deku scrubs; if my other submissions haven't made that obvious.
So first is my sort-of persona of the Zeldaverse, Cycas. and since I couldn't pick a specific time in the series for him to inhabit; he merely reincarnates like many of the characters in the franchise. (it works!)

Then there's Zinna, they are how do I put this... Idealistic. Believing that the Deku must evolve by purifying the species... yeah, sounds pretty evil.

Then we've got Cynna, who you might have guessed, is a descendant of both Cycas and Zinna, and because of Zelda-magic is both of them reincarnated in one. So a fusion in a sense.

Last is someone else's oc actually, Founder the Deku. His owner, AbsoluteDream is an amazing artist; they even drew Cycas, check it out!

I'd guess that beyond the obvious 'made of wood' connection, it also has to do with Dekus being somewhat based on Tikis/Totems, they're always depicted as very tribal in nature; so you are certainly not misguided in coming to that conclusion. :)

And of course, thank you!
