Another attempt at coloring using colored pencils. This time I use Prisma colored pencils as well some markers. What you guys think? How does it compare to my last attempt, where I used a different brand?
I like the coloring. Can't remember which one you're referring to (link?), but this one's nice. Something about the scratchy, fuzzy nature of hand-coloring in an age of digital coloring is refreshing.
I've been wanting to break out my Prismacolors for a while, now. I lack a good place to sit down and color, though. :(

Now that I'm looking at the two, to me it's a bit apples-and-oranges, in both composition and style, so it's hard to really compare them.
But, as far as how the pencil-work looks, the dragon picture shows more of the stroke of the pencil with regard to the background, and the dragon doesn't seem quite as intensely shaded as the dog is. The lines in this picture seem a bit fuzzier than the dragon picture (not saying that's a bad thing, just in comparison).
Hope that's good feedback :)
Ah, I missed that one, sorry. Now that I'm looking at the two, to me it's a bit apples-and-oranges,
And I can't say how much I enjoy your drawing on a physical medium. I love it when I see you at Furlandia and commission you =3. I just love how you draw so much =3.
Absolutely adorable RD ^_^ And I can't say how much I enjoy your drawing on a physical medium. I lo
Okay, first off: this is the most adorable picture I've ever seen on this website. So tender and affectionate! I can feel the uncanny love this sweet little girl shares for her beloved and loyal sheppy companion bloom so fluently... just an outright amazing picture. :3
Right, as for coloring: if V.1 is the Prisma-colored version, then I'm astonished by how much more bright and vivid the colors feel than those in the V.2 version. Though muted, I find that V.2 presents a slightly more nostalgic approach with its coloring, like an old-time Polaroid picture in a multi-generational family's scrapbook. Personally, I adore V.3 - soft sepia/B&W tones make any precious moment feel like a legacy in the making.
IN comparison, I happen to love the vast energy conveyed in those Prisma pencils - they really allow the colors to thrive in a most lively fashion. Whatever brand you used for V.2 are also quite lovely, perhaps more ideal for somber-themed pictures. All in all, I personally feel a closer connection to V.2. Colors are awesome but emotion and tone expressed through softer colors always prevails, IMHO.
Thank you very much for sharing these various versions of an ultimately beautiful work of art! <3

When comparing coloring I was talking about my previous colored penciled illustration
I used some cheaper off brand colored pencils for the dragon.
Version 2 and 3 of this image was done with some simple photo editing, with Version 1 being close to original colors as possible. You pretty much hit it on nail for my reasoning for trying the different tones and I'm glad you liked the different versions.
