Sonic and the Steel of Darkness is a fan-made series made by myself. It is undergone a 4-and-a-half year (to be exact) development ever since back in my first year in high school. It was originally made as a joke or a spark from mind in the SonicNewNetwork blog section. However, after many people seem to like my idea and thoughts, I decided to continue this as my fan-game in the Sonic Series. It started as poor scratches but over the years; it can stand on its own. It was originally a futuristic theme for the Sonic series, which was later changed to Steampunk due to the repetitive future timelines in the Sonic Series. Rather than going high-tech, it's probably better to downgrade but keeping the imagination fresh and expand.
Many people might probably hate me for disabling Sonic's main ability, his Speed. Firstly, this is a beat-em-up/platformer. I wanted to improve what SEGA haven't done ever since the Sonic Unleashed, in which there are only sections for it. I've also increased the difficulty to NES Difficult, for the nostalgia sakes. It will all be done in Pixel Art, rather than HD or smooth.
I've also wanted to make the enemies unique to each other and have personalities and backstories, even for bosses themselves. This also includes minor-characters which later give a bigger impact to the plot of this game. The plot focuses on Sonic's story on how he met everybody in that timeline, including how Dr. Robotnik (not called as Eggman) became rebellious to them. I'll talk more to my journal since I am running out of time.
