Nick barely slept through the night, spending most of it sureing up Finnicks van and Flash’s car. Matt, Finnick and Flash all stayed over with Nick. All he could do was stare at his phone, keep it charged and wait for the call he wasn’t even sure was coming. He sat on his bed, the morning light creeping across his legs as he swapped from his phone to laying back and watching the ceiling. Contemplating what to do next. Finnick snuck in and leapt up onto the bed.
“Can’t sleep?”
“No.” Nick answered right away.
“Well, today is the big day. Think Parker is telling the truth?”
“Don’t know.”
“Well he is your father.” Finnick stated.
“He is not, my father. He’s the maniac that kidnapped my girlfriend.”
“So then why are we waiting?” Finnick asked.
“Cause he’s not wrong about the RPG’s. I forgot about those. If they have them mounted on the roof, he can nail us from half a mile away.” He conceded.
“What’s the plan then?”
“We play his little game. Get in, break Judy, Bogo and Wolford out. Leave him to rot with the friends he’s betrayed. We’ll let Mariah pick up the mess.” He explained.
“Sounds good.” Finnick smiled. “Well I’m down for this. Are you?”
“Yeah, just want us to be on our way.” Nick stated, picking himself up and looking to his phone.
“He said early afternoon, right?”
“Yep.”
“Well here.” Finnick said, snatching up the phone. “I got a few hours sleep already. You need to get some too. I’ll stay by the phone and if he calls, I’ll wake ya up.”
“Fine.” Nick reluctantly agreed, climbing up his bed.
“We got this, Nick. It’s gonna be ok.” Finnick assured him, leaving the room.
“We got this.” Nick whispered in dismay. Glancing to the desk nearby, he spotted the purple box Grandma Ruth had given him. Opening it he gazed at the ring for a while. He recalled his mother wearing it quite often, running his thumb over the diamond. Opening up the drawer he shuffled around and spotted a thin gold necklace within. Undoing the clasp, he strung the ring through and wrapped it around his neck. He took another look at it, hanging around his neck as he settled in to bed, hoping to get at least a few hours sleep.
Much to his surprise, Nick managed to get in a few hours sleep. Matt woke him up just after noon and they started to assemble in the living room. Nick took two tasers and two guns with him. Matt followed suit including a flare gun to signal if they needed. Finnick had his only firearm, while Flash simply went unarmed. Nick’s phone finally went off, a call coming in from Judy and he swiped the screen.
“Nick?” Judy breathed.
“Judy! Are you ok baby?”
“I’m fine Nick, really.” She assured him. She was set on the mat still with Psych holding the phone to her head and an icepack on his own. “Your father however.” She chuckled.
“Please tell me this story has a messy ending.” Nick smiled.
“Relax Nick. Things were, kind of intense last night. Parker and I spent a good part of the night talking. I believe him when he says he wants to get us out.” She explained in a more hushed tone.
“So what’s the plan?” He asked.
“You’ll have to ask him. Parker?” She spoke up, nodding to him.
“Ugh, hello Nicky.”
“What’s the plan?” Nick asked again.
“Straight to the point. Aiden will come by and pick you up, bringing you back to the house. Do you have a crew that can create a good diversion? Do you know the address?”
“Yeah, it’s me, Finnick, Matt and Flash and we know where you are.”
“Good. I’m going to smuggle you into the house, you can lay low here for a while until it’s Aiden’s watch. Once he’s on, you’ll signal your friends to come bursting in to create a scene. Aiden will feign being hit, Oshu and the others will pursue for a while and during that time, we will load you, Judy, fat boy and traitor into the armored truck. By the time they come back you’ll be long gone.” Psych explained.
“This sounds exactly like my plan.” Nick stated with a rather unimpressed look.
“Great minds think alike. But also my plan doesn’t involve you being blown up by RPG’s, I’ll take care of those. Aiden starts his watch at three. Tell your friends to be ready in case you can’t signal them.”
“Alright, good.” Nick agreed. “Where are we meeting him?”
“Cafe de la rose, Savannah Central. He’ll be there in thirty minutes. Don’t be late, son.” Parker advised hanging up the phone.
“I’m off to Cafe de la rose, he’s gonna smuggle me in. You three hit the front door as per the original plan at 3:00.”
“But Nick, what if he.”
“I’ll signal for you if things go down too fast.” Nick insisted. “Either way if I fail, I’m counting on you guys to break Judy out.”
“Promise we will.” Matt swore.
“Let’s go.”
“I heard what you said, but I’m still trying to wrap my head around it.” Aiden argued as Psych emptied out his old money bag on the bed, stuffing all the bills he could into Aiden’s and shoving it to the side.
“Nothing to wrap it around.” He stated, placing the empty bag along with Aiden’s cut of money in his hand. “Do as I ask you and get him inside, that’s all.”
“And.. After.” Aiden kept quiet.
“You’re to leave. After they give chase, you go north. Through the maintenance tunnels and out of town. Find a safe place, and stay there. If I don’t contact you in a week, you can assume I’ve been killed.”
“You can’t ask me to do that. I said I’ll stay by your side and I mean it.” Aiden somewhat pouted.
“Damn it.” Psych hushed, pulling him down. “Please, do what I tell you. You know you’re not talking me out of this, boy.”
“But-“
“You’re the only one I can trust to bring my son in safely.” He cut him off. “Now go.” Aiden kneeled back down and scooped up Psych for a good hug.
“You better not die on me, I love you ya bastard.”
“I love you too, now get a move on.” Parker smiled, ruffling his head. Parker followed Aiden out of the room and down the stairs. Oshu, Tyler and Manches were chatting in the living room as they came down.
“How’s the head.” Oshu laughed, nodding to Parker.
“When it reattaches I’ll let you know.” He joked. Oshu and Manches laughed, watching Aiden leave for the garage.
“Where’s he off to?”
“Sending Aiden to meet with a potential exchange client. Going to make sure we don’t have anything that’s traceable and possibly look into getting the bills exchanged with non-sequentials.”
“So he’s taking a whole stack?” Oshu exclaimed.
“Oh relax, he’s taking mine. Well, Aiden’s now since yesterday.”
“I’m sorry about your son, Psych.” Manches spoke up.
“Thank you. I appreciate the concern fellas but, I feel more comfortable just getting back to work. Oshu, do you want me to monitor the ZPD’s movements? Keep tabs on your sister and her goons?”
“Yeah, not a bad idea. We should probably dispose of the hostages soon too.”
“Agreed, but let’s wait till nightfall. I’m going to see what more I can pull out of the fat one.” Parker chuckled.
“Save Hopps for me. I want the honor of taking her out, if you don’t mind.” Oshu stated.
“Certainly. Tyler, you’re on watch?”
“Yeah, will Aiden be back for his?” Tyler spoke up.
“Course, the meeting shouldn’t take long. Tempted to ask him to bring in some coffee on the way home.” Parker said, heading toward the hallway to the basement.
Nick leaned on the black victorian fence, just outside the cafe. Grizzoli and Finnick were at the table right behind him while Flash stayed in his car nearby in case anything went funny.
“Taking his time, isn’t he?” Matt commented after taking a sip of his coffee.
“Said thirty minutes. It’s been about that long.” Nick replied, pushing himself off the fence and checking up and down the street. A blue sports car slowly rolled up and pulled over onto the side right next to Nick. Getting out of the car was Aiden, dressed in a black hoodie and blue jeans. He walked around, meeting Nick’s unimpressed look and sat on the hood.
“Know if they serve ice caps?” He asked, cracking a smile.
“Do I look like I work here?” Nick retorted, crossing his arms. Aiden looked him over for a bit, unable to shake the smile from his face.
“Damn, I can see it.” Aiden noted, nodding to Nick.
“Are we doing this, or what?”
“We need to kill a little time. The boys think I’m out meeting with someone else, as you can imagine.” He explained.
“Take me to her.” Nick stated quietly. Aiden heaved a sigh and walked around to the driver’s side.
“Get in. And you two.” Aiden nodded to Matt and Finnick. “Don’t come over until you’re invited. Understood?” Nick got in the car and fastened his seatbelt as Aiden drove off. They headed down the street and onward toward the tunnels connecting Savannah Central to Sahara Square. “Most awkward drive I’ve ever done, how bout you?”
“Ambulance, few days ago. Don’t remember much because of the blood loss.” Nick replied.
“I think it only counts as awkward if you can remember it.” Aiden quipped.
“Right.” Nick huffed. Pulling into a maintenance tunnel, he stopped and got out of the car. Nick kept his hand on one of his guns and rushed out the door. Aiden opened up the trunk to reveal two bags. One filled with money almost to the brim, the other completely empty. He also noticed Nick holding onto one of his guns and growled.
“Put that away before you hurt yourself you moron, what you think I was just gonna walk you in the front door?”
“I know what he planned, but I still don’t trust you two.” Nick fired back. Slamming the trunk down he continued his barrage at Nick.
“Parker is risking everything to save your little girlfriend. Not to mention two animals he doesn’t give a shit about, all because of you. Maybe you don’t know him well enough to appreciate that, but I do.”
“What’s your point?”
“My point is he’s putting his life on the line for you. Everything he’s done and everything he’s worked for, dropped for you at a moment’s notice.” Nick started to read into what he was saying a little more. It seemed a little out of character for a criminal to care so much about someone else.
“What’s he mean to you?” Nick asked, storing the gun away.
“He’s the only one that ever stood up for me.” Aiden said, placing his hand on the hood. “When I lost my parents I was getting beaten on at that orphanage almost every day, Parker was the only one who stood up for me. Stepped in to protect me. I’ve spent my life returning the favor. I guess you could say he’s like a father to me.”
“Well he wasn’t one to me.” Nick looked away.
“Yeah, I know. But he used to talk about you all the time. Nicky’s doing this, and Nicky’s joining the scouts. Got an A in math, lousy in language arts. Gosh he used to ramble on.” Aiden trailed off, shaking his head. “Look, do me a favor? You guys are gonna get a chance to talk. So talk with him. Like I said, I know him a lot better than you and he’s been dealt some pretty shitty hands.”
“Ok.” Nick agreed, wondering how he knew about the ranger scouts incident. Opening up the trunk, Aiden waved him in.
“It’s not the Oasis Hotel, but it’ll do.” Aiden joked. Nick unzipped the empty bag a bit more and climbed inside. Aiden zipped him up almost all the way and closed the hood.
Back at the house, Parker was in the kitchen grabbing a bottle of liquor from the fridge. Popping the top he took a quick sip and tipped his head.
“Not bad.” He checked the pantry for a few snacks, some for himself and the others for the guests until Bryan came in.
“Hey.” He waved briefly, grabbing a glass of water.
“How’s it going?” Parker nodded. He threw the rest of the snacks on the counter and closed off the pantry. “Big plans today?”
“Not really.” Bryan brushed off.
“Too bad, I’m giving you some.” Parker smiled.
“Don’t you have your errand boy for that?” Bryan chuckled. Parker stuffed his hands in his pocket and spoke.
“I’m setting up a blackout path for you to this address.” Parker stated, handing him a sealed envelope. “It’s a letter to Sierra Avana.” Bryan took it slowly and gazed up to Parker.
“I don’t know. I mean, how can I face her?” He wondered.
“Take it from someone who doesn’t have a lot of time left.” Parker chuckled. “Don’t keep putting it off. I don’t know when I can make another window for you to get to them. I wanted to pay my respects in person but, I have too much of a target on my back. You, not so much.”
“Psych, I don’t know what to say.”
“How about, let me grab my keys.” He smiled. “Go. Give them the money. Talk with her, share your grief. Even if she won’t take it all, tell her to take enough for his little doe’s schooling.”
“Thank you.”
“Give me a call if you run into trouble. Maybe take them out to dinner or something too.” He suggested.
“I’ll grab my keys.” Parker gave a quick chuckle and pat Bryan’s back as he left the kitchen. Parker’s phone started vibrating; Aiden was pulling into the garage. Walking out into the living room he passed by Manches and Tyler.
“Psych.” Tyler nodded.
“Where’s Bryan off to?” Manches asked.
“I’m giving him a window to go give Jordan’s family their cut.” Parker explained.
“Ah, ok.” Manches agreed.
“We’re getting a little thin up here if both he and Aiden are gone.” Tyler lightly protested.
“Aiden just pulled in, just got a text from him now.” Parker replied.
“Oh ok, that’s a relief.” Tyler smiled. Parker headed toward the basement just as Aiden walked in with the bag at his side. Heading down the small staircase and closing the door behind him and setting the bag down. Parker put a hand on Aiden’s arm and whispered.
“Go ok?”
“Went ok.” He nodded.
“Good, thank you boy. Got me covered?”
“Always.”
“I knew I could count on you.” Parker whispered. Aiden smiled, walking up the stairs and out into the hallway, closing the door behind him. Parker slowly unzipped the bag as Nick leapt out and pushed the stunned fox up against the wall at the point of a gun.
“Where, is she?” He growled. Parker just stared unimpressed and poked his shoulder, pointing behind him. Judy was sitting, staring starry eyed at Nick from across the room.
“Carrots.” He gasped, rushing to her; he dove down and took Judy into his arms tight.
“Oh Nick.” She cried, doing the best she could to squeeze him.
“Carrots, I was so worried about you.” He took her in for a good long kiss and followed it up by several after, over her cheek and down her neck.
“You foxes, so emotional.” She giggled, giving him another squeeze. Parker walked over to his side and put a hand on his shoulder.
“Nicky, we need to talk. Now.” Parker insisted.
“It can wait.” Nick shook his head.
“No, I mean. I need you to know where to hide if anyone comes in, get up.” Parker urged, picking his son up by the shoulder. “Come here.” He guided him to a metal storage cabinet and opened it up.
“Cabinet. You’re gonna stuff me in this thing?” Nick questioned.
“You’re gonna love this.” Parker chuckled. Knocking on the wall, the panel opened up to reveal a secret path. “Leads to the boiler room, but come on, isn’t that cool? Old mansion, secret paths.” He laughed.
“Yeah ok, I’ll admit that is pretty classic.” Nick confessed. Strolling over to Bogo he gave him a light tap on the shoulder. “Guess you needed me on this one after all, Chief.” Bogo huffed and gestured toward Wolford.
“Stop being a smart ass and check on him. His shoulder looks pretty bad.” Bogo stated. Nick rushed over to Wolford and placed a hand on his side.
“Hey bud, you ok? Hanging in there?”
“Nick?” He peeked up. “They got you too?”
“Shh, easy Ryan. We’re gonna get you outta here ok? I’m here to rescue you.” He assured him.
“You’re here, to-“
“Shh.” He hushed. “Gotta stay quiet. Just rest up buddy, we’ll be home soon ok?”
“Ok.” He agreed.
“Admirable of you, Nicky.” Parker stated, watching his son. “Caring for your fellow officer.”
“The ones you haven’t killed at least.” Nick countered.
“Nicky, I didn’t bomb the station.”
“Yeah right.” Nick refuted, coming back over to Judy.
“Nick, it’s true.” Judy chimed in. “I believe him; he said Oshu went out and got the C-4 without telling him. They were originally going to fire a few rockets at the cruisers to get them to give chase.”
“Till that oaf went and declared war.” Parker sighed. “But what’s done is done there. We have just over an hour till Aiden takes his shift.” Judy and Parker both noticed something on Nick’s shirt together. Judy gave a quick press causing Nick to flinch while Parker rushed over, putting a hand on his back. “Nicky, are you ok?” He urgently asked. Nick was breathing a little heavier than usual.
“Just a little seeping, I’m fine.” He brushed off. Parker gave the wound a quick flick as Nick keeled over, gasping.
“Nicky, you stubborn idiot. When was the last time you changed those?” He demanded quietly.
“Nick did you forget to change them again?” Judy seemed ready to scold him. Parker could see Nick was clearly in quite a bit of pain and also knew he needed Nick to know he could trust him.
“Miss Hopps, let’s get him patched up. I have my meds and first aid kit around here.” He stated, taking a key out from his pocket. “Can I trust you, not to do anything foolish here?”
“I’ll help him.” She insisted. Parker nodded and unshackled Judy from her chains. Grabbing her wrists she breathed a sigh of relief and helped Parker escort Nick to his computer chair. Judy couldn’t help but smile, rubbing Nick’s legs and giving him a quick kiss. “Stubborn fox.”
“It’s family tradition at this point.” Parker pointed out, opening up his bag. “Off with the shirt Nicky.” Parker double checked the camera screens to be sure he had time. Oshu was asleep in his bedroom while Tyler, Manches and Aiden were playing cards in the living room. Turning around, he couldn’t help but smile, seeing Judy carefully unbutton his shirt and remove his tie.
“Nice and easy baby.” Judy whispered.
“I’m so glad you’re ok.” He stammered. “When I saw that video, and everything on the news.”
“Shh.” She hushed, giving him a good long kiss. “My turn to apologise for scaring you?” Judy giggled.
“Just glad you’re ok.” He chuckled softly, removing his shirt to reveal the white bandages, stained red over the gunshot site, but what surprised Parker the most was what was around Nick’s neck. On a gold chain, he was wearing Rachel’s engagement ring. The diamond and four rubies stood out almost as much as the wound to him. Closing his eyes he shook his head and put a hand on Nick’s shoulder.
“Let’s get you patched up, huh?” He whispered, removing the bandages carefully. Taking off the packing, he saw the messy sight. The shaved fur stained in dried blood. Parker took a bit of water and splashed it on the clean part of his old bandage and wiped it down. “Here we go.” He carried on, cleaning the sight while Judy took care of the one on his back. Nick was flinching and hissing in pain, the wound stung and ached horribly while it was exposed. Parker could feel himself tearing up. The lump in his throat forming as he knew it was him that caused this injury in the first place. Shuddering he turned around and started unwrapping the gauze and fresh white bandages.
“Don’t like seeing your handy work?” Nick questioned. Parker’s ears perked up, halting him for a moment before finding his composure.
“No parent likes to see their child in pain.” He answered, taking the gauze and pressing it against the sight. He placed Nick’s hand there to hold it steady and handed another piece to Judy. “To know you’re the one who caused it, makes it that much worse. So no, Nicky. I’m not a fan of my handy work.” He replied. Unfurling the bandage he passed it between himself and Judy wrapping him up. “Hold here.” He asked of Judy, pressing the end of the bandage on him. Parker grabbed a strip of tape and fastened it on. “There, all changed.” He concluded, patting Nick’s cheek. Parker walked away for a moment, looking up to the ceiling and taking a good long breath.
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” Parker glanced back. “Miss Hopps?”
“Yeah?”
“I hate to ask, but go back to the shower. I have to lock you up again. I can’t stash Nick and shackle you fast enough to keep our cover.”
“Oh, ok.” Judy unhappily agreed.
“I’ll get a mat for the two of you. Can sit together. I’ll leave them a little loose this time too.” Parker threw in, walking over to the mats. Judy complied and sat down on the tile floor while Parker shackled her up again. Nick hated seeing her tied down and sat right beside her, holding her hand as he clasped the iron on. “Not too tight?”
“No, it’s ok.” She nodded. Nick took her under his arm and kissed her cheek. Judy smiled, enjoying the warmth of his body against her.
“How about you do mine?” Bogo asked rather smugly.
“No.” He smiled up to Bogo. “Deal with it. You’re not my son.” Walking over to Nicks side he slumped himself up against the wall and sat down. “I really hope this works.”
“My friends will be ready. You disabled the RPG’s right?” Nick questioned.
“Yes, the heads are stored in my room under the bed. Can’t fire a rocket propelled grenade without the grenade portion.” He stated.
“Good.” Parker couldn’t get the ring out of his head. Looking to his son as he comforted Judy he put a paw on Nick’s back.
“Did Mama Chase tell you about that?” Parker asked. Nick knew right away he was talking about the engagement ring.
“What, want it back?” Parker shook his head and pulled the ring out from his shirt, getting in close to Nick.
“Your mother always used to say, wherever you go, my heart goes with you.” He began. “So I went to get this custom made. You see the diamond represents my heart, the rubies, which was her birthstone was hers. But See how they’re laid out. North, east, south and west.” Nick joined in saying. “That’s right. Wherever you go, my heart goes with you.” Parker laughed, letting go of the ring. “She lit up like a firework when she saw this. I proposed at our prom.”
“Too bad you abandoned her.” Nick sighed.
“Sometimes a father has to do what he needs to do to protect his wife and son.” Parker nodded.
“What’s that supposed to mean, how is that protecting us?”
“Told Judy last night. Though admittedly much of last night is fuzzy.” He nodded to her. Judy smiled and grasped Nick’s hand. “Even after all the complaints we made about Daryl, he made one about Rachel being too young to take care of you. Cub services put us under watch right away, and began investigating us. God Rachel was so scared.” He recalled, tearing up again he pulled Nick in a little closer. “She would wake up in the middle of the night and just run, b-line right to your crib and just hold you. She had nightmares constantly about police and agents coming in, taking you away in the night. After the hit on Daryl, the police were constantly hounding me. Even to the point they were showing up at our door, threatening to arrest everyone and put you into a foster home. So I buzzed the cops with a few less than kind favors, fled town and never looked back.”
“I see.” Nick whispered.
“See, as long as they were after me and me alone, they had nothing on Rachel. No proof she was part of the hit, Marcus and Ruth had no records, everything was good and sured up for them.” Parker nodded. “You and Rachel were safe.”
“So that’s why you didn’t come to the funeral?” Nick wondered.
“Well, what was I missing really?” He smiled, leaning back against the wall. “The part where they called her Mrs. Chase instead of Mrs. Wilde by accident? Or when you ran up to the casket and started crying? It was so cute and heartbreaking when you said she’s too cold, she needs a blanket.” Nick suddenly went wide eyed straight as his father. “There was nothing he could have said to give me any comfort that day.”
“You were there!”
“Mmm, I was there. It’s amazing what a little spray on dye and the right outfit can do.” He nodded. “You think all of her business trips to Predaton were for work?” Parker chuckled. “No no no. Where do you think the money for your ranger scout uniform came from? Or how about your grade five outdoor school money? We kept in touch right up until you were twelve. I even snuck in the hospital to be at her bedside.” He sniffled. “She was so weak, in so much pain. I stayed with her as long as I could that day while you were napping on Marcus’s lap in the hall.”
“But. I don’t understand, why didn’t you just talk to me.” Nick pleaded.
“Any contact you had with me before you turned 18, the police would have scooped you up, interrogated you, and stole you away from her. I could never, allow that to happen.” Parker refuted, taking a moment to compose himself. “But I still made one catastrophic mistake.” He said, gently rubbing the gunshot wound. “My poor boy. I can’t believe I couldn’t tell it was you.”
“I didn’t know it was you, either.” Nick shrugged.
“You had good reason, I had no excuse. I should have known my son at the sight of him.” Parker stated adamantly. “Nicky, I’m so sorry for hurting you. Truly I am.” He insisted, giving his back one more good rub. Taking another deep breath he rose to his feet and walked over to the monitors. “Ugh, I should check on things upstairs. Make sure we’re still safe.” He said walking over to the desk and leaning over. Judy smiled at Nick, giving his hand a quick pat and nodded over to Parker. Nick gave her a quick kiss and strolled over to his desk. Parker turned around, seeing Nick behind him with his calm and cool little smile.
“I’ll let it slide this once.” He shrugged. “Just no more shooting at me or my girlfriend, deal?” He proposed. Parker nearly burst into tears and took his son in for a hug.
“I love you, Nicky.”
“Yeah, I love ya too, you dumb fox.” He replied, patting Parker’s back. Nick cringed as he let go, grasping his chest. “Oooh, you’d think a hug would be a little less painful.”
“Didn’t they give you something for the pain?” He asked.
“Yeah, about that.” Nick scratched his head.
“Nicky you stubborn kit, come on.” Nick rolled his eyes as Parker produced two tablets from his bag for his son. “Here, take these two.”
“Nah, I gotta be all here for when-“ Parker cut him off with a flick to his chest. “AYE sheez.”
“Fair to say I’d rather see you dopey than in any more pain.” He noted. Nick didn’t feel like arguing and took the pain killers his father had given him. “Don’t worry Nicky, we’ll get you all out, safe and sound.”
It was drawing closer and closer to the time. Nick was cuddled up with Judy on the floor, kissing her paws and neck. Parker was set across from Bogo, chatting about what will happen after.
“I told you, I’m not asking for immunity.”
“Good, because you’re not getting it.” Bogo smiled down to the old fox.
“However since Chief Hogkins is dead and there’s no way to address the crimes he’s committed against me and my family, there must be some kind of deal to be made.”
“Get a good lawyer.” Bogo huffed.
“I’m suddenly finding it harder to consider saving you, what with that tiger being such a fitting replacement.” Parker playfully suggested, throwing up his brow.
“Dad.” Nick sighed. Parker grumbled and threw his eyes to the ground.
“Lucky you’re on good terms with my son.”
“Chief?” Judy spoke up.
“Yes Hopps?”
“Well, I don’t mean to take sides. Parker is definitely looking at some serious charges here but, ignoring so many complaints from residents including violent crimes is a blatent act of purgery. Anyone who’s associated with it, could be charged with conspiracy and would probably be looking at some serious jail time as well.” She explained.
“Is there a point to all this?” Bogo asked.
“Just, that there is grounds for a deal to be made for Parker and Parker alone. He’s a terminal patient chief, maybe he could even help us sure up our networks at the office or, be bound to house arrest until he passes away.” Judy suggested.
“Well it’ll have to wait.” Parker stated, looking down to Judy’s phone. “It’s time. Here Judy, let me get those off quickly.” He said, leaning down to free Judy once again and giving her back her phone. Nick picked her up and gave her a good long hug and kiss while Parker stood in front of Bogo with a smile. “Hope you don’t mind a little heavy lifting, I’m not about to carry that wolf out for you.”
“Just get these damn things off.” Bogo snorted. Parker complied with his request and unshackled the chief.
“Come.” He gestured, walking over to Wolford. “Pin him down, if he so much as looks at me funny, I’ll leave him here.” He instructed Bogo. He placed a hand on Wolford’s shoulder and said quietly.
“You’re going to be ok, Ryan. We’re going now, just stay quiet and stick with me, alright?” Bogo said softly. Ryan gave a slow nod as Parker unshackled him. Bogo picked him up and took Ryan over his shoulder. “Now what?” Parker walked over to the monitors and saw Aiden taking position near the doorway. Tyler was just heading up the stairs while Manches was in the kitchen raiding the fridge.
“They’re in position. It’s time. Nicky, alert your friends.”
“Got it.” Nick acknowledged.
