This kind of event takes place between Skylanders: Trap Team and Skylanders: SuperChargers.
During his months of Traptanium capture. Wolfgang, having the heart to come back to his home kingdom of Mondlicht *It means moonlight in German*, a place where humans live, decided to see his human parents Ludwig and Tabitha by sneaking out of Skylanders Academy and into his hometown in the human kingdom that night. Wolfgang hasn't seen his parents since he graduated at the Musician's Academy at age 18.
But by the time he got to his old mansion, his parents were frightened when they saw their son as a werewolf, so then they disowned him because they don't want such a beast for a son.
After Wolfgang left his mansion, he was then cornered by the guards led by Captain Lupus, who intended to capture him if he ever return to Mondlicht, so Wolfgang, without his bone harp had to fight off the guards, and then bit Lupus on the left shoulder, but was then knocked down unconscious by one of the powerhouse of the guards. And then was taken to the dungeons.
Wolfgang was on all fours naked and was chain on his neck, legs, and wrists, he struggled himself to be set free, but no use. But then something unlocked his chains and Wolfgang was able to get out of the castle, and run away from Mondlicht as far away as he can.
He was then at the forest as it was raining, as Wolfgang collapsed onto the ground and was crying in tears, feeling heartbroken about his parents disowning him. Afterwards he then went unconscious.
The Trap Masters Snap Shot and Wallop, alongside Doom Raiders, Dr. Krankcase, Chef Pepper Jack and Dreamcatcher were searching for Wolfgang in the forest, until he found him, they suddenly saw Nightshade, who was following Wolfgang all this time.
He explained that he followed Wolfgang because he was afraid he'll be back to being a bad guy, but learned he went to see his parents to tell them that he helped the Skylanders fight to save
Skylands during the events of Skylanders: Trap Team and thought they would be proud of him, but they instead disowned their werewolf son.
Nightshade was also shocked about Wolfgang having to be cornered by the royal knights, he wanted to help him, but it may affect his status as a reformed villain.
When Wolfgang was locked up, Nightshade stole the keys from one of the royal guards to try to set Wolfgang free while still invisible, he even found Wolfgang's leather pants on his way to find him, he was the one that set Wolfgang free by unlocking the doors to the dungeon, and unlocking his chains, but was unaware Nightshade freed him because he was invisible.
When Nightshade was about to turn himself visible by the time they got out of the castle, Wolfgang however ran off from his kingdom, which prompt Nightshade to follow him into the forest.
After Nightshade explained the whole story, they took Wolfgang back to the Academy and nursed him back to health.
