panel 1
That night, my part time job had more hours to work than normal, and I didn't get home until late.

panel 2
Worst of all, wouldn't be payed until the next day. I was broke and there was nothing to eat, but Audrey said that we had was two day-old bread.

panel 3
I told her, half joking, half serious, that we should pawn the TV, since there was no real purpose to have one
and we both spend our days outside. Plus, we can always recover it once things improve.  However, she begged me to pawn it.

panel 4
Since I was so tired from all of the extra work, I didn't wake up until midday

"That night, my part time job took
more hours than I expected
and I didn't come back until it was late"

panel 2

Worst of all, my bosses decided to pay us
the next day.
my pay wouldn't come until the end of (this or next) week. **
I had no money and there was nothing
to eat, Audrey told me we had two day stale bread.

panel 3

I told her, half jokingly, half serious, that we should
pawn the tv. There wasn't any real purpose to have one
since wthe both of us spend most of the day outside. We could
always recover it once things improved.
She begged me to not do that.

panel 4

The extra hours really tired me, and I didn't
wake up until midday.

** Wait, if the bosses paid him the next day, wouldn't he have enough for food? I struck-through the original line for panel 2 to suggest a different line that would make more sense.

In some countries, employees are paid on a daily basis.  If, for some reason, the boss doesn't pay the employee on the day he works, it can cause a major hardship on the employee, as is depicted here where the guy doesn't have the money to purchase food for the next day.

"That night, my part time job took more hours than I expected, and I didn't come back until it was late."

panel 2

The worst of all was that my bosses decided to pay us only the next day, so I had no money and there was nothing  to eat. Audrey told me there was two-day-old bread.

panel 3

I told her, half jokingly and half seriously, that we should pawn the TV, since there was not real purpose to have one as we both spend most of the day outside. Moreover, we can always recover it once things improve. She begged me to not do that, however.

"that night, my part time job took
more hours thank expected (he worked for more time)
and I didn't came back until late"

"I had picked up a couple extra hours at work that night, but it kept me later than I would have liked."

panel 2

worst of all was that my bosses decided to pay us
the next day, so i had no money and there was nothing
to eat, Audrey told me there was two days old bread

"The worst part is that we didn't get paid today, so I had no money to buy new food. Audrey said the only thing we have left was two-day old bread."

panel 3

I told her, half joking, half serious, that we should
pawn the tv, there was not real purpose to have one
since we both spend most of the day otside, and we can
always recover it once things improve (she find a job or he findomg a better one),
she begged me to not do that

"I told her, half-jokingly, that we could pawn the TV. There was no reason to have one since we spent most of our time outside anyway. We could always buy a new one when things got better. She begged me not to do that, that we weren't at that point yet."

panel 4

the extra hours really got me tired, and I didn't
woke up until midday

"The late shift yesterday had me exhausted, and I had slept in until midday."

Panel 1
later that night, my job took longer then expected and it was late at night when i finally got back

Panel 2
Knowing that my boss decided to pay us later was the worst. Having no cash on hand to buy food Audrey let me know that we have a loaf of two day old bread left.

Panel 3
In a jesting tone That we should pawn the TV. In all seriousness We spent most of the time outside, anyway we can bring it back once things are stabilized.
"She begged me not to do that."

Panel 4
The extra hours got me completely exhausted, I slept until mid-afternoon

I guess I'll try my hand at assisting you.

Panel 1
"That night, I had to work longer than I expected to have to work.  As a result, I didn't get home until late.

Panel 2
To make matter worse, my bosses decided to not pay us until the next day.  As a result, I didn't have any money and there was nothing to eat.  Audrey said that all we had to eat was two day old bread.

Panel 3
Half jokingly, I said that, perhaps, we should pawn the TV since there was no real reason to have one.  After all, we both spent most of the day outside.  Besides, we could always recover it once things improve for us, her finding a job or me finding a better one.  However, she begged me to not do that.

Panel 4
Because of all the extra hours I had to work yesterday, I was extremely tired.  As a result, I didn't wake up until midday the next day.

I hope that helps you.  (I'm a bit of a writer myself so I can usually give an idea as to what works.)
