A screen-grab from the wonderfully pointed climax to the Famous Studios cartoon, "Better Bait Than Never." Although manip'd by yours truly, this is how the story actually ends, with Katnip getting a fanny-harpooning that lasts into the night (you can see the beginning of the trench that the two adversaries will scour around the tree). Exquisite toon violence that I couldn't resist tarting up. ^,^

Lots of fun corporal punishment in those old toons, back when most-all the members of the audiences, regardless of age, could identify.

I quite agree. I know that cartoons from this era have inspired a lot of apologies/explanations, some of which were deserved. But the violence was often cheeky (as it is here) and great fun. ^,^

Hehe! Is this a great moment or what? Here's a Youtube link to the cartoon. It's in German and not very well translated, but the video quality is good enough. And the "ouch, ouch, OUCH!!" is understood in any language, nicht wahr? ^!~

I saw a similar situation in a Tom & Jerry cartoon,where Spike the dog spank Tom's rear end with a golf club!The name of the cartoon is "The invisible mouse"!^^
