At some point I got my (filthy) paws at a tarot deck commission and snatched the Hermit. Here he is in all his glory, Abraxas as a card that means a lot to me.
I'm super glad I managed to get in on this deck, all the cards are gorgeous.

We don't need hermits. Always trying to ingratiate themselves with God and trying to make us ashamed of ourselves for focusing on everyday things (and paying lipservice to God on Sundays).

And missionaries always try to make us ashamed of ourselves for not putting our lives, plans & hopes for the future on the shelf, selling all we have, and going on witnessing work over the sea "to tell the heathen lost in sin,Christ died to set us free".

I think by definition hermits don't seek interaction with their surroundings.
