Well, I only like how I've done two things on good old DW so far, his cape and his hand. The cape was the only part of him painted in SAI, my still holding favorite software for painting. The hand was the last thing I finished, almost immediately following me finally FINDING THE DAMN BLENDING BRUSH!
// Start of Rant
In this week alone(granted this is the first week I've touched photoshop in almost 6 years) I have spent 8 hours looking for these settings. I fudged about for three hours in photoshop, spent 4 hours scouring the internet for an answer other then "It doesn't need a blending brush, thousands professional artists use photoshop every day and it's good enough for them." I even spent an hour talking to someone who uses photoshop all the time, though I'll grant them that I may not have been in the most patient mood by the time I asked. Turns out, there is a brush for it, it's called the 'Blending Brush' and I am baffled as to how it failed to turn up in both the photoshop help and hours of google search with the key words 'blend' and 'brush'. Now that I feel like a royal idiot for halving wasted so much time this week looking for a tool that was right in front of my face I can actually spend a little time seeing if it's worth the $200 I'll likely have to spend to use it any longer then a month. Not to mention the fact I've also been using it for work, they prolly have a problem with a game being released using a trial version of their software >.>;
// You have either survived or avoided the Rant, carry on
While I'm not fond with the rest of him, most of him is good enough for the image. His eyes and bill however will likely need a complete rework(bill job, that sounds expensive). Can't tell if his face makes me feel he's unimpressed by Don(not shown yet because "I have big arms and little hands...") or if he just looks stoned. At any rate comments or advice that contribute to this cause will be greatly appreciated, earning you my un-dieing gratitude for a period of time no shorter then half an hour. I'm not joking, a whole half hour or more depending on how much time it saves me!
Can't tell if i like the floor more or less since I attempted to make it feel like metal, but it likely will be done over again too, as well as adding in his shadow.
As a final note, Darkwing Duck belongs to Disney, however, Keno, faithful cara-cube and resident time keeper belongs to me.
