suggested freckles could be really cute. And he was right!
Finally got an actual non-scraps pic of her done~ <3 And with that summery feeling around I decided to go for broke and do a fun pool pic. =3 Also I had an idea for a swimsuit where you intentionally go from an opaque fabric on the top to transparent once you take a dip. =D
Here's a repost of the info I typed up elsewhere.
New character concept, this is one of Salacia's friends. Salacia is pretty amazing as a gamer. She's been playing since she was a little kid, her knowledge is extensive and she doesn't discriminate against any platforms.
Heather...is not amazing as a gamer. She's a pretty casual gamer and only owns two consoles which were both given to her. She kind of sucks at gaming, but she enjoys it, and is a good friend to Salacia.
I may be using her in the future to do little Let's-Play-like observations on games. As you may have guessed, her name is a Random Character Generator name from a loooong time back when I was taking strange and silly name suggestions and making characters to go with them. Salacia Kookieburg and Betty Belfry are both characters named by the RCG process.
I originally was going to make her a red panda, but then I actually had a dream about her! I liked the exotic species so much I decided to keep it. Chococoon!
Incidentally, I really need to have Ember hang out with Heather and/or Sal sometime. She'd come for the cute bust-tacular gals, and stay for the vidyagaems!

Oh. Oh. Be still my heart. She's so cute. She was cute when you showed me that first sketch forever ago, she's cute now, and she makes me want one of these like nobody's fricking business. In fact all that does is make me think how she'd look with white speckle freckles but regardless the bottom line here is that I adore her character design and I cannot wait to see what kind of person she is in different contexts. Like her backstory makes me all curious. What does she think about gaming? How's she feel about the culture? How does she approach failure? There are so many facets here worth pondering.
The island floatilla and gameboy pop are inspired, I totally want one of each! You really know how to make those summer pictures stand out. <3 Oh and that bikini! Holy cow, I really like the translucency, it has a very texturing effect on it! Really nice~
I like how her underbelly color comes a little bit down the breasts, that's a really nice way of selling their geometry. Gosh she's tasty. <3

I'm glad to hear you think so! It feels so good to finally get her drawn. |D Maybe I'll open up an Ask Heather thing for that kind of info you mentioned. =O I'll have to figure out more of her backstory, but I thiiink she's going to be one of the geek group Salacia took under her wing. Like, maybe she was getting made fun of for being a casual and or unskilled gamer and Salacia was the first one to tell her there's no wrong way to be a gamer.
What does she think about gaming? She loves it for the social aspects of it and delving into such a broad range of different types of games to be had. She's particularly fond of Rockstar style sandbox games.
How does she feel about the culture? She likes the energy out there, and has a particular fascination with LPers. She's a bit put off by the brocentric gatekeeper side of it though. (Where's her male fan service? >=O)
How does she approach failure? She has cultivated the world's most chill attitude toward failure. She'll try her best but if she can't get through something because her skill level just isn't there she can still part with a game with good feelings toward it and move on to the next.
Thanks! Summer fun has always been one of those subjects I can put my full heart into. <3 Whew, the shirt texture was hard! I studied both real and drawn wet t-shirts to figure out what to do. Eventually I found a way to shade the breasts as I normally would and layer the texture on top in a way that made things just opaque and obscured enough without losing either aspect. It's two different textures multiplied and merged together above the breasts shaded as if naked, then a little bit of air brushed purple/gray to make the shirt opaque where it doesn't cling to her breasts. The result is a marriage of breast shading and t-shirt texture.
Yeah, I love that breast patterning technique! It really is revolutionary and solves so much of the old problem where it looks like the breasts aren't attached to the girl that owns them. XD I need more of it in my life and on my characters.
