Alrighty then guys time for the first of a number of scifi Post Human pics. I've done a number of them showing various manimals but I've decided to start our with the sapient species. Might be a bit before I get to the others but lets get started. ^^
History is a long winding road. No one knows what route the world will take as history unfolds. The story of humanity is a complicated one. A story of rising to great heights and falling into the darkness. But even in the darkest of nights there is still a Light to shine and show the way. There is the hope for the dawn. The dawn that will come and once more banish the dark of night. This is the story of that light in the Night. The beginning of the second Dawn of humanity. But perhaps you don't yet understand. For you all this could just be fiction. A future that will never come to pass. Perhaps a little background first. In the beginning there were animals. From them rose a singular ape. It stood up on two legs and slowly it grasped the world. Not just with it's freed hands. But it's mind. Over epochs of time humanity would change and grow. It would rise to hold dominion over the whole of the Earth and there would be not a single land it had not touched. So mighty was it that it even rose above the clouds and lit the night so brightly that it could only truly be appreciated above the clouds. This is the world you know. This was the first day of humanity. It's rose as the sun rises. But as the sun must set so too must Humanity. At least as it was. In time humanity grew prideful and heedless of danger. Countless creatures were snuffed out by a species that believed itself above nature. By a species that now refused to see the harm it was doing and refused to change. But change it would for the world would not have it otherwise. The details of what follows are not important. It is unknown and likely will remain so. But in the aftermath of a horrific event much life on this world lay dead. And humanity was wounded and changed utterly. The one thing that allowed them to stand above all others, their intellect, was gone. Now they were but animals as all others had been. In time the human form would twist and change, sculpted by the every changing forces of nature to fill the niches it had left empty. Man would become the replacement for the creatures he had destroyed. For millions of years this would go on. The Manimals. But then one species began to regain that spark of intelligence and would become a light in the night to shine the way into the new dawn.
Veska walked the perimeter of the tribe's camp eyes cast to the terrain around him. It was lush and green now. The wet season had FINALLY come to the valley and with it life stirred a new. It seemed to him though that it took longer than it should have. But perhaps it only felt that way and the elders did say sometimes it comes sooner and sometimes it comes later. Who could predict the heavens after all save for the regular motions of the shining stars above. The place of the gods and the ancestors. Veska looked up and wondered if the gods and ancestors were truly looking back down upon him. Wondered if anyone did. No one could know really. There was no way to tell. Veska had thusly taken on a code of his own. He would respect the ancestors for their actions had enabled him to be. But the gods? He was not sure. If they truly existed would they desire his worship? After all parents created they children but never asked for worship in return. Veska had asked this of the Tribe leader Esa. She had told him this. "You doubt. That is good. Through doubt you ask questions. In asking questions you seek answers. In seeking those answers you gain knowledge and THAT makes the world better. Live your life and believe what your heart and mind tell you. For anything worthy of being called gods care not that you worship them but merely how you lead your life. Treat others well. Value the life you KNOW you have and others will have. Make it a good one. For you and for those to come AFTER you." Veska liked that. Truely the Esa was a wise woman. No wonder her line had been Tribe leaders for generations. Veska smiled as he stopped to look back at camp. Aks stopped with him and sat at his feet looking back too. Veska loved the loyal Desh. Looking down at it he shifted his spear to the other hand and gave it's head a pet. It was hard to fathom that there was a time when there were no Desh. Merely wild Dash. But that the people had taken in some and after generations molded them into the Desh. A Loyal companion that would fight tooth and nail for it's Sha'tal master. Would help to hunt, find things, and move things. Truely the Desh were one of the Sha'tal's greatest achievements. But one stood above even the loyal Desh in Veska's eyes. It was what he gazed at now. The camp fire around which the tribe sat and talked and worked in the final hours before slumber. Animals feared it and it kept them warm and helped them to make things. It was a Light in the Night that would shine the way for any Sha'tal and lead the way till dawn. Quite the achievement.
Well hope you guys liked the pic and the lil story. ^^
