Within the land of Paladia there are many holidays that are shared with thier Equestrian neighbors. However, similar to the Summer Sun Celebration, Paladia has a group of holidays dedicated to the change of the seasons. Within Paladia, the seasons are not changed manually, but do seem to change with a strange magical force guiding them. The ponies of Paladia have had story after story passed along with each generation but one common theme seems to run for most of them. The idea that the seasons change with the appearance of a pony to match the coming season. They are: The Mares of Winter and Summer, The Stallion of Autumn, and the Filly of Spring. Their race and colors may change with each year, marking good or bad tendencies for that time. No matter if they are Earth Pony or Alicorn, Summer and winter are always mares, Fall is always a stallion, and Spring is always a filly.

The Mare of Summer is the incarnation of summer within Paladia. Tending to the sky and balancing the overall heat through the land is her gift to the ponies of Paladia. One of the most common sighted forms of the Mare of Summer is a pegasus. Seeing this mare soaring through the skies and dancing among the clouds is a sign of a hot summer. Most days should be pleasantly warm with plenty of sunshine. However, one should beware of the dry heat making some fields very vulnerable to fire. The Mare of Summer is not without her wild side in this form, so spikes in temperature are to be expected if she's in a particularly playful mood.

It's the official start of summer today on the 20th of June. Just like with the "Filly of Spring" I'm posting another pic dedicated to a season's solstice.
