I am not a person of words, but I will try my best:

I now have Twitter for one or two weeks. Orlando is the first tragity I experienced while part of a social media platform like Twitter. Even thought I know about...the aftermath such a tragedy causes, it hit me harder having it that close and seeing people I know and so far had a good image of, taking part in it.

They haven't even removed the bodys from that place, but it already begins. The opinion war. You know, after such a tragedy you would think now it should be the time to pause, think about the victims and their families. But that's obviously not the case. Instead we head up another war. Of couse everybody already found their personal wrongdoer in this who alone is to blame, preferably it's a whole group who is just as bad as that one person. The homophobic christians, the terroristic muslims, or gay people themselves who did wrong to God.
And of course we know, from the second on, how this all could have been prevented. More guns, no guns, ban all muslims.

There have been now several tragedys of that kind in 2016. Orlando, Paris or Brussels are only a few, and don't forget the stuff we won't hear about because it doesn't happen in a western country.
It's always the same. With every tragedy this war heats up again. What do we have? Have we archieved more safety? Could we prevent any tragedy like this? Of course not. All we do is feeding the hate, getting more apart from each other, hardening the fronts.

And personally I think one of the biggest tragedy here is exactly that. Because of how we handle this. This aftermath. We don't learn from those tragedys. And that's why I think those people really died a senseless death.

In the end, who will remember those people. Because those haven't been just any people or any number. Those also haven't been just queers. They have been real persons with dreams and hopes, many of them had family who loved them. But this is...unimportant. Important is that we already know everything about it and that everybody knows we do.

So this is what I will do now. Commemorating those people. Not only those people from Orlando, but everybody who felt victim of such a tragedy. Commemoorating those people in silence and fix together what needs to be fixed.
