I used to live in a desert, the middle of butt-ass utah really. I grew up in a mormon town called "Moroni" yes, the same moron moroni the angel in the book of LDS LSD.
Years later i'm now in the north-west and holy gods above I LOVE THIS PLACE! So, much, rain! OH SO MUCH WATER! I LOVE IT!
