Even though I've been in the fandom for a few years now, I'm still occasionally dumbstruck by the question "...and what are YOU?"

My first impulses to answer are "a carbon-based lifeform/a human being/some twat" before I realize they ask of course for my sona. The thing always was that I don't have one, since my affection for all creatures of anthropomorphic nature is so evenly spread I couldn't really choose a specific one to represent me.

It was only when my first furcon neared last year that I realized I would need a badge like everyone else, and that said badge depicts one's fursona. After some pondering I realized I couldn't decide between fox and lion when it comes to my favorite species, so I created a hybrid of those two.

And this would be now the first digital depiction of said creation of mine. I also experimented with a cell-shading style, since I feel I'm at risk of wearing out the blur tool of SAI XD

i too have often wondered about what your fursona may be, since you always changed your icon picture XD

but its good to know now who you identify as and to be able to SEE your character now ^-^

Like I said in the description, I love all creatures of anthropomorphic nature, and I can imagine myself as many of them. Had I to pick (and I kinda have to for con badges), it would be this fella though :) I guess I could define myself as sona-fluid ;)

understandable.... however i used to think this was your fursona

actually we had a conversation about this same topic on that submission..... its like traveling back in time, reading our previous conversation ^.^

Hehe, true, funny how I said the same things without even remembering that :) I find it still very interesting how strongly many furs relate to their chosen sona. I admit I have difficulties comprehending such commitment (especially reading all those warnings "DONT STEAL MY CHARS!!!", as if anyone could take a product of their creativity away XD), but I guess many furs see an important part of themselves in their characters.

i believe people are so attached to their fursona's because many build their character based on themselves or what they wish to see in themselves..... like if you were to look at a photo of me, then a picture of my fursona, they are PRETTY MUCH the same. also the fact that many people put a lot of effort into building their fursonas, so its a pretty important thing to them.

another thing to keep in mind is the difference between someones "fursona" and "characters" that person has created
