The sand-blasted ring, where liars and blasphemers are sentenced to burn and explode in the sweltering desert-like heat of their degenerate sins. Pretty gnarly stuff, all things considered... her backstory was heavily influenced by The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Worth a read if you can handle old-AF text phrasing! ;)

I've never read "The Divine Comedy", although I've always wanted to. I may see if I can get a copy from Amazon and order it. Thanks for clarifying Maile's position in the storyline.
BTW, I was really getting into the comic about Max and Sydney. I hope the artist starts it up again. I'd really like to see what happens. (I'm probably going to read the story at some time.)
