Search for a Plot Takes place 36ish years after humanity learned we are not alone. However before that we first met them. A whole new adventure begins.
Chapter 001 ~ The Seminal event.
Day 1
On a day much like any other day, scientists noticed odd gray dots covering the depths of space. Not because of how large they were but because there were so many and so close. As many of the objects got closer they exploded sending large bits of shrapnel to the surface of Earth. Even though most of it burned up in the atmosphere, many gBombh shaped objects pelted the the facing side. From cities to deserts hundreds if not thousands of them rained down marring entire patches of land.
Humans curious as much as they were afraid wandered into the craters only to find People in Suits trapped inside the burning wrecks the size of buses. Heedless of their own danger they risked their lives to help as many as they could. Pulling the survivors from the wrecks and lying them on the sides, those who could move joined in the effort. Even if their orange blood was dripping from their seals they kept pushing and pushing trying to save their people.
Humans and Aliens alike were working together to pull the wounded and dead from both races out of the hell fire they caused. As the fired died down and the wounded were collected, a few of them in heavy metal suits tossed small balls of light into the air. Standing they waited as it changed colors. Each moment shifting to whole frequencies man had yet seen.
As the ball fell back into the hands of the aliens, a solid -psshh- could be heard. After a few seconds the lead alien removed his helmet. The thick matted fur covering his neck, his dark brown eyes, and his black nose left little to the imagination, he was a dog. People stammered and screamed at the new site. The Dog man walked over and picked up a bit of scrap. Using a some rubble he crudely wrote gHelph and handed it to the man who had taken charge for the Human rescuers before collapsing from his injuries.
As night fell, the humans were placed into emergency tents and shelters. The aliens as well as any salvageable equipment were loaded up into Military vehicles to be escorted to new secure locations, We knew nothing of them and they knew nothing of us, it was for their safety as well as our own.
Day 2
The alarm sounded as the old Dog sprang from his bed, Head bandaged and limbs restrained. A Sharp pain in his side made him more aware of his restraints. He laid back down and studied his surroundings. The cold metal walls and poor sad lighting over head pressing down on him told him it was some kind of medical bay. Three humans in full hazmat suits walked in carrying medical equipment. One spoke in a considerably broken version of his tongue. All the old dog could make out was, gYou need help? Be calm, we talk.h Before he could respond one of the humans reached in startling the old dog, the sudden movement caused the third human to lift a weapon. The first human raised his hand and yelled at the third with a commanding voice. The one with the weapon hesitantly lowered it. The Dog watched as the second human carefully unlocked his restraints and stepped around to the the bed carefully releasing him.
The Dog adjusted himself in his bed, His orange blood staining the sheets thanks to a newly opened wound. He began to rub his injured side while keeping an eye on his guests. The first human Chittered to the others, the one with the weapon quickly walked over and hit a button. Suddenly a loud hissing noise forced the dog to drop his ears. Carefully he peeked through his eyes to see the human removing his suit. The human pulled a plastic device from his pocket and began to fiddle with it before looking at the dog. gAir Cleanh as he politely bowed hurriedly the human searched for the next broken words gSorry if scareh he said in a scratched voice.
The old dog sat a moment, searching for a word the human would be able to understand... Suddenly the human clapped his hands and began making weird sounds to himself before he snapped at the second one. Walking over he lifted the hood exposing a young women and retrieved her plastic device. Quickly the male human fiddled with the device like he had his own. Handing it to the Old Dog he sat studying it before the human made a demonstration. Pulling up human words that were close to their words.
The Dog sat searching his own for the proper term. Finding the right phrase he hit enter and the plastic device screeched out the human chattering. The human sat there for a moment before asking gHow many?h The device replied gMany.h The human sat down, his plastic pants squeaking uncomfortably in his chair.
The Old Dog began typing out a long string before hitting the enter key. gI need my suit and I need to contact my peopleh
The female walked over to a wall panel and produced his mangled equipment. With a surprised whistle from the first human all the Old Dog could understand was that he was impressed with how badly it had been damaged. Feeling a bit of pride the Old Dog patted himself on the chest with a crooked smile, showing his teeth he returned to his equipment.
Rummaging through the gear he produced a small chip and what looked like an injector. In broken English the Old Dog growled gBe Safe, Might Sting.h Placing the device against the jaw of the first human. Raising his hand he mumbled something and the man in the plastic suit lowered his weapon again.
With a loud crack the human grabbed his jaw before spitting out a little blood. The human flagged the man with the gun grunting out something again, followed a few more times in what could be considered an gangry tone.h The old dogs ears pricked as the man slowly stood up. gDamn, that hurt more than I was expecting.h The Old Dog beamed at the human, gI do apologize about this, but it seemed faster than that old toy of yours.h
The room filled with laughter and growling, the other humans in the room stood confused feeling they were only hearing one side of a conversation. The first human laughed again, gYeah, I'm not going to remember that, but your suit has a name tag on it and it looks a LOT like John so that's what I'm going to go with.h The Old Dog lowered his tail a bit but nodded. With low growling and a few flips of his ears the Human turned to the other two. gOh yeah, sorry about that. The thing he hit me with was a translator... well kind of. Anyway, his name is John, His Fleet is in trouble and a few need a place to land before they blow up.h Pulling out their phones the female and the man in the plastic suit began to make calls.
With a pause, she turned, gThey said if they can, aim for the deserts they're less populated and we should have personnel on the way.h The first human nodded before repeating it to John. With a sheepish grin the First Human turned to the rest. gHe... uhh, needs to go outside.h The human in the plastic suit banged on the door twice followed by the sound of a heavy bar sliding and the door releasing. A young man standing on the other side of the door pops to attention with a salute as the first human returns it in kind. gBring this guy a change of clothes and tell the old man we're going outside.h
After the Old Dog switched into a simple flight suit they headed to an elevator leading to an old aircraft hanger. The first human turns to John, gSorry about the mess, we weren't expecting guests.h the building was crawling with humans, cats, dogs, rabbits and many other types of Humanoid critters, all setting up living stations, mess areas and the like.
A small cat noticed John and let out a shriek before launching into his arms causing the vast majority of the crew to stop. gYou're alive!! You're alive!! By the Sky You're alive!!h She yalled before pushing her nose into the fur of his neck letting out a happy sobbing. Reaching up with his free arm he began petting the feline. gI'm fine, I'm fine and yourself?h The cat cried, gI... I'm the only one who made it....h before she broke down in his arms.
Setting her down he looked to his people. gI lived, by the sky we lived, let those who have fallen drift into the night and may their journey carry them home.h Rubbing her head, he smiled at the little cat, gI must let them know we are okay and that they are going to help.h Soon after that he grabbed some parts from one of the downed ships and headed outside.
John paused with the sudden brightness. The first human turned to him and offered a hat and sunglasses. gThe name's Jim, and welcome to Earth.h With a nod they walked to a large area of the tarmac. John preceded to get to work. gSo, how does this thing work?h Jim mumbled while poking the cobbled together piece of junk. gLook and see human, Look and see.h A massive blast of light exploded from the tip. The light was so bright the air around began to give off a low gong sound before fading to nothing. Before long, shadows covered the area as one by one near burning wrecks landed near the base, hundreds of aliens poured out and were lead inside the hanger. Again and again ships were landing and leaving. This sight was being reproduced all across the planet. Finally a colossal shining mass landed nearly on top of them.
A Small port ramp on the side dropped to the ground and a solid white feline wearing what looked like a gfunctioningh version of Johns suit stood surrounded by what can only be described as security. Turning to John she smiled. gYou Lived!! By the Sky!!h Causing the Old Dog to blush through his still sticky fur. Turning to Jim she smiled, gI'll make it official, You,.. You shall speak for us human, and they will listen.
Taking a step back, Jim looked around realizing he was the only human there. gI... I'm sorry mam but... I cant really do that.h Dropping her ears the White cat gave a bit of a pout, gBut why not? You can speak our tongue and stand tall. You should be perfect for the jobh
To be continued, Just testing the waters and I'm looking for your opinions/suggestions. I've not actually written anything and want to get some pointers.
