meh in my opinion gen 6 has the best starters out of them all. there will always be hit and miss pokemon. most total pokedexes are about even in my opinion in terms of cool ideas.

Gen 5 was a deliberate attempt at redoing GEN ONE ideas though. it's why it seemed "they had run out of ideas" they were recycling discarded ideas from gen oen and attempting to make "a new gen one" in a sense. AND IT FAILED SO HARD. Fans and new players alike were pissed off about how there was that scaled experience BS that made grinding even more a pain in the ASS and how you couldn't catch ANY old pokemon until after you beat the game. If you look at gen6 there is much more new ideas and new takes on pokemon. ANd before you bring up objects, voltorb.

Liltin is the best of the 3 in base form though alot of people seem to like the grass one...because owl, naturaly...what is it with owls...i absolutly dismissed the water one till i saw that it wasnt a dog, but a seal then im like 'wait what' ima guess there going 'circus' theme with these ones set so i predict the following each following form will get derpier and more clownlike for the dog./seal thing, the owl will bcome some sort of magician like thing, and the cat will take on a ringmaster like form...with a top hat like thing or something...i could be totaly off but...we will see. also fenekin/braxian ftw still...though...heres hopeing they give delephox a nice mega this gen to finaly make her not suck...then maybe ill take my everstone off my fenekin finaly...

i hate how everyone calls Popplio a fucking seal XD it literally says it's the sea lion pokemon. besides seals don't have visible ears, like with seel and dewgong. but anyway, i feel like litten is just a pyroar knock off, and Rowlets typing makes it extremely weak as grass flying just adds more weaknesses then it takes away

you know now that you point this out i realize you are completely correct in regards to what popplio is also after cooling down a bit from the initial shock i do find him way more adorable than i though i would but i would very much like to point out that i never said i hated popplio just said i hated the hypocirsy around his design maybe because a majority of the reactions i saw of him were actually really positive instead of the actual majority of people complaining about him "i don't exactly know how that happened though" but honestly my only problem with him was a problem that apparently didn't exist in the sense i thought it did i do very much like him but i still hate the owl's guts

yeah, i wasn't meaning to point out you, or anyone in general, and i never said you hated him. that and pokemon itself is weird with it's classifications. so, don't worry about it :P and besides, they are all pretty cute in their own rights. Oshawott was one of my favorite starters, and the first water type i actually picked, and now, i will chose popplio. people always react in strange ways the first time they see a starter, same thing happened to Froakie, and piplup too, but i'm sure most people will warm up to them eventually
