I was meant to wait a week to post this but I'm so proud of it, I couldn't wait to show everyone. I've been practicing some new colour techniques, and one of the texture techniques involved shading fur/hair. I'm actively trying to improve my work, and colour/shade has always been my main weakness.
Bearing in mind, the last time I did textured hair, it looked like this:

The plus side of having my new laptop is that I can work on bigger canvases too, so I can get more detail in there. This portrait took me about 8 - 9 hours from start to finish. Usually a flat-colour image of two characters can take about 3 hours (provided the characters are relatively simple in shape). I don't think I would offer this level of detail for commissions just yet because it is an enormous commitment and I want to work on my skills a bit more before I would consider painting for someone.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy Mord in all his hairy glory.
looks a little like aum... crap, Mustifar? aum NO! No, scar! that's it. The muzzle has that slimely Dignifided sort of look to it. But I like the redo. The texturing came out much nicer this time I believe. :)
