A little gift for my good friend, Ettie. I've been poking at this on and off for a few months. I actually recorded the whole process from sketch to detailing. Once I figure out how to do it, I'd like to upload all that as a speed paint video.

I really love this outfit on her, everything looks so comfy, baggy and snug.

Love her outfit, especially that cute, baggy sweater and those little boots. Though I gotta say, any girl who can go out in snowy weather, especially one as light and summery as that one looks, is far braver than I! Love the pose. It's fun and kinda flirty, though I thought at first she was rearing back to throw a snowball at someone. The big, fluffy snowflakes in the background look nice, too!

Oh her legs are probably freezing, but man it makes for a good photo, right? I like to imagine that after this "photo" was taken, she fell straight into a snow bank, ha ha.

It is a really lovely outfit, and it does look so nice and warm. Especially her sweater and the matching boots. The blue hat she's wearing is really cute, too. I really like the pose for this one. Between the hair spread out around her and the little flip of her skirt, she looks like she's flopping backward to make a snow angel or something. Or maybe just watch the flakes fall down around her. Either way, it has a nice sort of cheerful, playful feel to it and her expression is just adorable.

It's kind of neat that all three of the pictures you've posted so far have all kind of followed the same "brown character against a blue background" theme. They all look really gorgeous, too!

They really were all brown with blue, huh? I guess I really like that color combo and didn't even realize, ha. And thank you! I had a lot of fun challenging myself to put motion into the pose as much as possible. The hair took quite a while, but it was so worth it.

Very nice piece!  My eye is drawn in particular to the hair, which looks great, though that's not to detract from the rest in any way.   A part of my mind wants to say that, compared to the top, that skirt is going to feel super breezy, hehe.

Thank you! I think the hair and, oddly, the shading on the fluff of the boots, were my favorite parts to do.

This is beautiful, Malachyte! It's always interesting when shades of a color are used against a different shade of the same color, i.e. the outfit against the blue background. But, you blended everything amazingly! Especially by adding all the details in the contours of the clothing. It really makes it look like she's in motion right now! That, or, there's wind wherever she's at. Either would be appropriate. *nods*

I always love seeing what you come out with. And now this has been added to one of my personal favorites. Fantastic job, as always. (:

Thank you so much! The blue on her clothes was actually a bit of a challenge. Ettie's character specifically has a hat that's purposefully oversaturated, loud blue. So I had to keep that in but also make it look natural and not stand out too much. To help with it, I made the skirt the same color, and then mirrored it in the background (especially around the bottom of the oval). It was neat keeping these things in consideration while doing up the final image.
