Soren closed his locker door after having put his duffle bag in it. He adjusted his trunks and turned, reaching for his elbow pads and slid them on. Next he sat down and put his boots on, lacing them up and stood up. He grabbed his belt and headed out into the hallway, walking towards the arena entrance. He signaled the tech team to queue his music and waited for it to begin, let it play a few seconds, then walked out onto the stage as dethorned roses fell from the ceiling, he caught one and walked to the ring. Soren climbed throigh the ropes then went to the nearest corner, standing on the second rope, posing for the crowd and holding his U.S. title belt up, moving to all four corners and doing the same before getting down and handing his belt to the referee. As he stood in the corner, he thought back to a week ago when he received a phone call, an indie wrestler wanted him to be his opponent, naturally Soren agreed because he enjoyed the sport. Back to the present and the cheers of fans, Soren heard his music "hunt you down" by Saliva end and the announcer talk about the match and his personal stats, before his opponent's music began. When Soren laid eyes on his mystery opponent, he smirked, knowing it would be a good match. Soren moved to the center of the ring as his opponent climbed in for the pre-match stare down as the announcer announced him to the fans also. "So you're the one, let's give them a good fight to cement your place as a wrestler."

As the announcer spoke of Cyrus' stats after Soren's, Soren handed his U.S. title belt off to the referee who handed it to someone outside the ring. With the ding of the bell, Soren widened his stance and raised his arms, preparing to start the match off with a lockup. However that is not what he got, instead of pressing his paws against Cyrus', he got not just one boot to the head, but two. Due to his rooted stance, he only tipped over as Cyrus landed on the ring from that drop kick, Soren landing on his back afterwards, the audience could already see that he was surfing the stars from his slack jaw and tongue that had fallen out of his mouth. Cyrus hurried to pin the rose flaun with a hook of the leg and the referee dropped to the mat, getting to a two count before Soren kicked out, purely on reflex than cognitive effort.
3.
It would take Soren several seconds to recover from that drop kick to the face, but when he did he sat up and shook his head, clearing the cobwebs and daze. He got to his feet and saw Cyrus trying to ramp up the energy of the crowd, as he thought about a cheap shot, Cyrus noticed he was up and ran at him for a corner flying neckbreaker, but Soren ducked under it and grabbed Cyrus between the legs as well as over the shoulder then assisted his flying, right over the top rope. Soren ran to the opposite ropes for a rope shoot then back across the ring, and jumped, extending his legs between the middle and bottom rope while holding the top and blind sided Cyrus, who had gotten up, with two boots to the head, one from the front and the other from the back. His momentum did not break and he landed on his feet outside the ring.
4.
From there he reached down to pick up Cyrus from where the stunned male lay against the barricade, his nose was bleeding. Soren grabbed him by his arm and butt then shoved him back into the ring under the bottom rope. He climbed up onto the ring and stepped through the ropes where he once again grabbed Cyrus and pulled him into the middle of the ring. He pulled Cyrus to his feet then forced him to kneel and grabbed his right shoulder, digging one digit into the painful pressure point, a move called the Lion's Claw, but one he called Rose Thorn.
5.
Soren held the claw in place for a time as the referee counted and released it on nine, letting Cyrus hold his own shoulder and he walked to the corner and climbed the rope. He waved to and posed for the crowd then got up to the top rope and turned around. He waited until Cyrus started to get up and crouched. When his opponent was fully standing, Soren launched off the top turnbuckle in an attempt to perform his signature rose line, but Cyrus surprisingly caught him in mid air and slammed him down on the canvas. Stunned again, Cyrus' next move, a basic ground and pound, worked for a few punches and then Soren regained enough awareness to begin blocking his fists, unsuccessfully at first then gradually better.
6.
Eventually, Soren managed to draw his feet in close enough to kick Cyrus in the chest, causing the other canine to fall backwards into a roll. Soren scrambled to his feet and up the ropes quickly as Cyrus charged at him. Haphazardly, Soren executed the rose line again, but successfullythis time. He ended up landing hard on the mat as Cyrus was tossed into the far corner, both groggy from the blows they've done to each other.
7.
Soren was first to roll over and crawl back to the corner that he had just jumped from, but they both got to their feet about the same time and turned around. Cyrus leaned heavier on the ropes than Soren did. When he caught enough breath, Soren ran across the ring and corner splashed Cyrus, who fell on his rear. Soren picked him up again and leaned him back against the post then ran across to the opposite corner. The second time, he intended to monkey flip Cyrus back across the ring. He charged Cyrus and jumped onto the second ropes then reached for Cyris, but Cyrus grabbed his legs tightly and stepped out of the corner, making Soren flail before falling over Cyrus' shoulder.
Soren attempted an impromptu school boy rollup on Cyrus, ending up with his face pressed against the pouch of Cyrus' trunks. Cyrus was able to use his momentum to roll out of it into a crouch, as Soren reeled backwards where he sat.
Cyrus dove at him and rolled them both over, Soren landed on his feet but Cyrus stood up while simultaneously putting Soren in the fireman carry then wasting no time in executing his (signature/finisher) Ego Death, a variation of the fireman carry neckbreaker. Again, Cyrus went instantly for a leg hook pin, and the result was the same, Soren managed to kick out on two, barely this time, he lay spread eagled after kicking out, his chest heaved up and down.
8.
Both males were down and nearly spent, but Cyrus started to recover first. He made it to his feet first and grabbed Soren by his hair, pulling him up to his feet. Cyrus then picked Soren up by his tights and inverted him then executed his brain buster. Soren landed hard on the back of his neck and sat up then fell forward before slowly tipping on to his side Cyrus rolled him on his back and hooked both legs, laying between the two star markings. The referee dropped and counted one, counted two, and counted three.
