Since I stopped watching MLP on 11th episode of 5th season, I don't know what's going on, only watched "Gauntlet of Fire", and looking on some fan arts, seems like Rarity doesn't care about his feelings. To be honest, I hate this pairing, it's another stereotypical pairing like small guy that have puppy crush on adult lady. And I'm more than sure that some people were angry with Rarity when they knew she doesn't care. Is it her fault? She find Spike as friend, what's wrong with it? And of course there's nothing weird that people after that started pairing SG with him.

Agree, it's always seemed that even if, and it seems to be canon she knows, Rarity doesn't care of Spike's feelings. But it's no wonder, we got a mare at 17 years (in reality you're mare/stallion at 20 human years, which makes most FiM mares and stallions adolescent fillies and colts) and a baby dragon worth 10-11 human years, so it shouldn't sit with anyone you have a lover who's a little too young.
