Some frequently-asked questions, answered. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like answered.
What's your general process for completing commissions/YCH? I take payment in advance, and base the order of work in my queue on the order that payments are made. I work through the current queue in order (rush orders, such as commissions for conbadges that are needed in time for a convention date, can be arranged, and are completed alongside the main queue). When working on a commission/YCH, I mark it in bold in the list on my profile details. Typically, I will stream when I draw. If you would prefer I not do this with your picture, please let me know. When working on an image, I provide work-in-progress images for feedback and to allow for changes.
Why can you not take payment via Paypal? I used to use Paypal, but without warning they froze my account, disallowed any further payments, seized all funds within it for six months, stated directly that I am no-longer allowed to use their service, and refused to give me an explantion for why. All this is allowed within their terms of service. As I do this for a living, I am unable to risk my livelihood on such an unreliable service.
Who runs your payment portal cleverkittycreations.com? Cleverkittycreations.com is owned and run by myself, and hosted on Easyspace. When you make a payment, it connects through to a secure service called ePDQ, which is run by Barclaycard.
So, am I trusting you with my credit card details? Absolutely not. The service package I have with them does not include card-handling at my end. Every aspect of the payment is handled by Barclaycard, on their secure portal. I have no access whatsoever to the card details (aside from the type of card used, and the last four digits). None of your card details are stored on my computer, or on my website. I can't go on a spending spree with your cards (boo!)
I tried to pay you through your portal, and it rejected my payment! How come? If you haven't paid me before, and are overseas from me (I'm in the UK), attempting to pay my portal can sometimes trigger your card-provider's fraud-protection system. This isn't anything to worry about; it just means they think the payment is unusual compared to your past activity. Resolving this is usually very easy; just contact your card-provider and tell them it's a legitimate payment, and then you'll be able to try again (remembering to use a new title, so it's unique), and it should go through fine.
Do I have to pay in GBP? My prices are in GBP, but your card-provider will automatically convert from whatever currency you use, so you don't need to specify that. For an estimate of conversion rates (it may vary slightly depending on your card-holder's sums), go to www.xe.com
Are there other ways to pay you? I can take direct online bank transfer, or can usually work something out. However, my website is the primary method for me to accept payment.
Are your prices flexible? Sometimes, depending on circumstances. I am aware that currrency exchange rates often make my prices high for some people. Please have pity, though; I live in the UK, where the cost of living is quite high. I need to put food in this tummy, and keep Alfie well-supplied with kitty treats.
Who's Alfie? My cat, seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17775534/ He's probably aged somewhere between seven and ten (he was a rescue cat), has many missing teeth, doesn't like being picked up, but will stay in your lap forever, and is the friendliest cat ever; he knows more of my neighbours than I do.
Do you do trades? How about freebies? Sometimes. But paid work takes priority.
Are there any things you won't draw/write? Underaged characters in sexual situations, as it is (as I understand it) illegal in the UK.
What can and can't I do with commissions I get from you? My terms of service states: "The buyer is granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal use only." Translated, this means that I retain the copyright, but the buyer is allowed to own copies of the work, print it out, display it (online or otherwise), and generally enjoy it so long as they don't claim it as their own, alter it, sell or give it to someone else, or attempt to profit from it. If you do want to do any of those things (say, commission a design for a t-shirt that will be sold), those rights can be negotiated.
What image format should I expect to receive from you? A full-resolution .png of the image (typically 3,000 pixels along the longest dimension), plus a resized version (typically 1,000 pixels along the longest dimension) suitable for posting on profiles (this is the size that I post on my own profile). Other formats/sizes are available on request.
May I keep a commission private; meaning you won't post it? Yes, but please request this in advance. Obviously, this doesn't apply to YCHs.
I saw your work posted on suchandsuch a site. Have they stolen from you? If it's not here, or on my Inkbunny profile (or Weasyl, though I no-longer maintain it), then yes, probably. But I don't mind. I enjoy knowing I'm reaching a wider audience, and that other people like my stuff enough to help me do that.
Why does your site say writer, not artist? Because when I made it, I hadn't started drawing yet, and I've been too lazy to change it since. XD
Why are you so clever? Because I'm a kitty. Duh. All kitties are clever.
I have now. It looks very much like it's just for Americans, which isn't at all handy for me as a Brit. It charges $15 for payment reversals, which is ridiculous. Part 11.2 of their terms of service looks to be exactly like Paypal; we can close your account whenever we feel like it, and we'll freeze your account balance for 90 days. Ditto 13.2. My current system is provided by a HUGE multi-national bank. Whereas I've never heard of Veridian Credit Union and Compass Bank.

Name - just for my reference, not passed to the portal, can be anything you like. Email Address - just for my use to contact you, not passed to the portal, can be anything you like. Commission Title - this is passed to the portal and is used as the order ID, which is why it needs to be unique. Payment Amount (in GBP): - this is passed to the portal and is what tells it how much the payment is. Other contact details - just for my reference, not passed to the portal; any additional notes that might be useful.
All the details provided after that point go to the portal and not to me. I use the title/orderID to identify which payment goes with which commission.
