Character Description
cute island squid who was born outside of inkopolis but moved away when she was young. now that she's back, she's ready to get into real turf wars, tired of her boring, laid back life on the island
she uses a splash-o-matic and is especially good with suction bombs. her backup weapon is an inkbrush! kailani's style is to rush and sneak into a flanking position and pop out for close-range splats, tho her focus is usually on covering ground to support her team

Background/History
she was a nerd with thick glasses living in inkopolis with one close friend, a gentle male inkling that was the same age as her. they were very close but it wasn't long before kailani's father packed up and moved the family far southwest to a sunny tropical island, far far away from the bustle of the city. she spent the rest of her childhood there, bored out of her mind
eventually, kailani's father decided it would be okay for them to finally move back to inkopolis so kailani could participate in turf wars and splat with some squids her age, instead of having to entertain all the old retired squids that lived on the island with them. upon moving back, she contacted her old childhood friend, arranging to meet up in the plaza after all those years...

kailani's father is a colossal squid and very lazy. that said, he is a good father and provides for his daughter the best he can. to him, relaxation is sacred. he is very traditional and even dresses like the times long forgotten. interestingly, he has tried dating since his wife, kailani's mother, passed away before their move, mostly dating men
World/Setting
Body
dark skin tone gained from years of harsh sunlight, bright pink tentacles covered in dark horizontal stripes. she wears them as twin-tails, leaving them behind her shoulders. her bangs are diagonal
Clothing
kailani is fashionable like most young inklings! her style was affected by living in the tropics, mostly in the colors she uses
Accessories
most squids wear their glasses for fashion, and while kailani's are quite fashionable, she does have prescription lenses in there!
