Chell was evicted from the Enrichment Center. Now she's out on her own, somewhere in Michigan. GLaDOS didn't even give her a time. When is she?
Eventually, she will meet Alyx Vance and The One Free Man. Her fate has been set in stone. The Companion Cube's, however, hasn't, but if it can survive up to 4000 degrees Kelvin with no serious harm done to it, it might survive the ordeal until then.
Chell doesn't believe the Cube can speak, but if it can, it's not making any effort to talk to her, and after she had to throw it in the furnace all those years ago, it's probably not in a good mood. Still, to entertain herself, she's taking it as far as she can until she tires of carrying it. At least she'll have someone to talk to.
But where to now? Chell has nowhere to go. All that she had was left behind 9. 9. 9. 9. 9. 9. 9. 9 *FZZZT!* ago. Still, if space can be warped with portals, then there must be a way to alter time in a similar way. Chell will not give up until she finds a way to go back to the past.
Now where are those humans? And the deer?
