"Kenny and Max arrived in a brand new city yesterday. Max was anxious and just couldn't stay in their new apartment, so they go out to get lunch together."

This was *supposed* to be a quick one, but I got soooo engrossed with the background it took a bit longer than expected. I might love it a bit more than the figures, even though they both came out quite well.  I'll put the background into scraps.

Now I wanna draw something more lewd.  :P

I thought it was Nick from Zootopia, as a kit kid
-or whatever...

Makes sense.  The original sketch is an older practice I did based on Zootopia concept art by Byron Howard (sorry if link is crazy).

I can draw a pretty decent Nick, but I do my best to deviate away from the more Disney cartoon look.  The figures here are very much a product of what I was trying to do to increase my speed.  I have maybe 100+ sketches like this lol

The background seems to be based on New Orleans.
I would have enjoyed my stay more, having arrived to see a World's Fair, but it rained so much, and visits to the zoo, etc., had to be cut short. A sign at the Fair did explain the excessive raining.

Correct!  90% of my cityscapes or city backgrounds are based on New Orleans.  Is where I grew up! ^.^

This one is a combination of Bourbon and Royal Street with a modified shot of downtown.  I have thousands of pictures I've taken over the years.  And I'm probably gonna swing back down again one weekend and get more :3

You probably heard or read of tentative plans to just abandon the entire city to the elements, after that terrible hurricane took over 1000 lives altogether. Likewise, after the Chicago fire, they even considered abandoning the entire city. In both cases, the people would build new cities elsewhere or scatter, and the original cities just left to just rot away. In both cases, however, they decided to repair and rebuild .
